Hey Bill.

Can you shoot a pic of the back side of the custom nut?

Dan, here's a picture

Thanks.

Typical Bill over the top stuff.

I would expect no less.

If I may explain how this transpired. The process was I first made the hole for the nut in the pulley big enough for the stock nut. The problem was not the nut; it was making the hole big enough for a socket to tighten the nut. If I did this then there was not much metal left between the pulley groove and the hole for the nut. I found some lug nuts in the correct thread but after thinking about it I figured I would just make a nut with the same 22mm head as the stock nut and could then make the hole smaller and leave more thickness in the pulley metal. Also it was buzz the 22mm stock nut off and buzz the new nut on with the same socket.
Since Stu posted those pictures I will just post some others.

Read (f) To torque pulley nut..... 81 ft·lbf.

So with the new improved nut covering up the shaft, how does one go about getting to the requisite 81 ft-lb since using an SST or vice is not possible?

150 Alt

So this little gem showed up today. It came out of a 2006 Seq w 96K miles. Good to see the wiring dia on the label. :grinpimp:

I am going to have it tested before install..

So how hard is it to do the the brushes?? Is there any other PM I should do before the install.

Thanks again Bill

Stu:cheers:

The TOYODIY systems shows the following, which look similar to the original 80 series setup; 15 minutes tops with it out of the truck. List is around $25, odds are CDan price is under $20. Also looks like the same PN works for both the 130 and 150 versions.

I also plan on changing mine when I get the Alt, and having it locally tested to be sure that it is charging fine before doing the swap.

Thanks Steve. I Pm'd Dan & Beno for a price.

x2 on the testing before and after brush change.

Torque stick on the rattle gun.

Bill

Edit: typical torque stick link

Cool tool! Didn't know they existed, but one for me is on order now. And 80 ft/lbs is close enough in my book to the 76 ft/lbs spec'ed for wheel lug nuts that it can be used for that application too.

Any idea on price for the bearings since you are already in there?

Steel wheels? My FSM says 103 ft/lbs for aluminum?

Pretty sure it's the other way around: 76 ft/lbs for forged aluminum wheels.

103 for 93/94 alloy wheels with the steel insert (acorn lug nuts, lug nut centric). And all steel wheels.

76 for 95+ wheels with the flat washer lug nuts (hub centric).
