About to change out spark plugs and saw a video recommending to spray the outside of the ignition coil down with silicone and let air dry. I don't see this as a common practice so thought I'd throw the question out there. Seems many are also on the fence about applying a bead of dielectrice grease on inside of coil too. Antiseize on threads seems to be a no no as it affects the ability to get the proper torque. Thoughts ???

None of that is recommended by Toyota, and these trucks go a few hundred thousand miles with relative ease..

Thanks! No to the dielectric grease inside coil tip too? Thanks
I wouldn’t. The upper coil seal and bolt should prevent any contamination getting in there, not to mention the rubber boot on the coil tip.
