I checked the TPS per the FSm and it seemed to check out, also the VAF seemed good as well tho I did not break it open. Can I get a bump? or i might have to post this for sale :( I am moving soon

I would wash out the engine bay so you can see a little better?

i wish. Its parked at my Gfs apartment, so no hose. maybe i can hunt one down tho

Cracked the vaf open and from what I could look up this all seems in place?

So now that it is finally in Az I started again. I saw on another thread someone having a similar power cut issue. His fix was removing the cats as one of the honey combs had broken and clogged. But after removing mine, them seem fine and no fix with it running with out the cats.

Right before I had it shipped I had a shop look at it real quick. The said it wasn't holding oil pressure and that I would need a new motor. I took this as just a run around for them not wanting to work on the truck. But I have seem to found a coolant leak once I cleaned the mud off.

This seems to be the are it is coming from. I assume there should be a gasket here.

Pic for better location. The screw driver is still in it.

I just filled that same gap with grey RTV because it seemed to be the last oil leak/seep that my old engine had but I have not had it out of my shop to run it yet.
If you are running red coolant then you also seem to be losing that too based on your photos. I run green and I did not notice coolant coming fom that gap. I suppose it's possible since the water pump is right there too. The timing chain cover is sealed with toyota FIPG just like the oil pans so you will probably need to remove it to make a good repair due to the coolant.

Thanks fir posting this. I am going to research this further as I am now woundering if that gap was left there for a specific purpose.

So do you think the best thing would just be to pull it and reseal?
With that coolant leak, you don't have a choice but to pull the front accessory cover because there is a water passage from the water pump that leads into the block that's sealed by an O-ring between the cover and the front of the block. Looking at the pic you can see the half dollar size hole at the top right. It's not going to be a small job. Think oil pan and possibly head removal.

Well damn, bad news. Oh well it was bound to happen. I guess this is a good reason to do all that PM in there. Could that seal be leaking in to the cylinder? I am just wondering if this could cause my low power issue.

I don't see how a water leak from that hole in the accessory cover could enter the combustion chamber. Are you positive that your HG is not leaking externally?

well if I am going to pull all that i guess I will be getting a better look. Any how to on pulling the front accessory cover? Or just a light engine rebuild? most ones I find on here or on google are total over hauls

You definitely need a Toyota factory service manual (FSM). I have never remove the timing cover, only the head. But, knowing what I do know, I don't see how you can remove that cover with the head in place and definitely not with oil pan in place because two studs that thread into the timing cover extend down through the front flange of the upper oil pan.

Miles on your engine and it's overall condition will determine how much work you need to do to it. If I were in your position, I would first refer to the fsm to see what it says about removing the cover.

Well I had some time today so I started it. I would have to say it went well nothing stripped or snapped! But now that I have the throttle body off I will have to do more research for PM type things. At this point I am thinking
Fuel filter
Clean throttle body
Knock sensors
Rebuild injectors
spark plugs
maybe a new dis. cap

Any other thoughts?
