Short notice: wheeling today

Hi,

we are going wheeling today behind the Sycamore area and possibly in The Rolls later. Plan is to roll out of the Chevron gas station on the McDowell Indian Reservation at 10am.

apparently there was an "excessive heat warning" in effect that we didn't know about

it was lovely, not a soul out there - but saw a hawk on a Saguaro watching us drive by

also found an Exploder sunk in sand and abandoned in Sycamore

as for temperatures: when we started, Michael measured 104 in the Blazer (windows open, AC off), and 115 by 1pm - we were back home by 2pm

sorry again for the late notice (we only flew in yesterday night and I spent today smogging the 40 - with success )

we will be checking out the scene of the fire tomorrow:

Michael could see the Verde Fire from our house early in the morning after the lightning started it and called it into the Fountain Hills Fire Department . . .

a greater than 2000 acres area north of Sycamore wash got burned, most of it encompassing a (formerly) really nice Saguaro forest and lush desert vegetation - the area was opened to travel several days after the fire, but we haven't seen it ourselves yet, so we'll go tomorrow afternoon:

the idea is to roll from Fountain Hills approximately at 1pm to 1:30pm, depending on who all wants to join - currently, it's Michael in the Blazer, me in the 80, richardlillard in his 80 with a friend - everybody is welcome, but please send a private message so that we will wait for you - we'll leave from the Chevron gas station on the Ft. McDowell reservation on the south side of Beeline
