If any of the walls are greater than 10' height you will want/need to add horizontal blocking using 2x6.

Walls over 12' in Kelowna must be an 'engineered wall', $700 for the design and stamp) which did not specify horizontal blocking - not sure why

Heatlink equipment -- with a condensing tankless boiler (radiant and hot water heat exchangers) -- Navien NCB180 (14 to 80 mmbtu/hr) with in-slab temperature sensor and outdoor sensor, mounted on the outside north wall (anticipates temperature changes and pre-fires boiler at a lower level for longer period).

Once setup I might sell the house ... LoL
Built my mom and dads house over ten years ago, used the in floor heat and would be my only choice of heat for a shop... Did you lay the tubing yourself?

Update ... Patio and 4' front skirt poured yesterday - 2% grade away from building. Thermal breaks at garage door and man door thresholds. The breaks are located under door gaskets so not visible when doors down.

Few update Pics -- electrical and insulation prep
1 1/2" rigid insulation furred on 2"x6" studs on north wall for thermal break for R-28,
R56 ceiling, R24 east, west and south walls (new code coming)
electrical panel rough in.
bathroom taking shape
10' by 12' garden shed - painted white to hide ugly OSB, table for lawnmower to use area above, vent in corner for gasoline.
light switches - 4 banks of selectable T8's from front to rear of shop, twin overhead fans, pot lights on patio, front and side decor LED lights on timer
7 x 240v plugs (compressor, welder, plasma, hoist from ceiling drop) and 3 extras
120v ceiling drop for other hoist post
garage door power and safety beams pre-wired
next - get the security pre-wire in place

If you have a chance try to install a sleeve or conduit to the roof or out to a south facing area in your yard.
The sleeve is for a potential hot water Solar Panel or Panels in the future. Your slab would be used as your heat sink.
Visited a friends home up in 108 mile house who is has been off grid for the last 22 years and with his set up he gets to heat his home and gets his domestic hot water with two solar panels. This is from April till November.

Rugby - you suggesting a solar hot water 'tie in' to the in-floor radiant heating loops - if so how is that done ?

What Mike might be suggesting is a bypass to allow your water in the floor to be sent out to the roof to a passive solar collector (think of 200 ft of black hose on a south facing roof) to be heated before being heated by your furnace/hot water heater.
When I put our new hot water heater in, I plumbed in a bypass to allow the cold water from the city to be diverted up to the roof before going into the hot water tank to increase the temperature, thus saving on fuel costs. I haven't finished it yet, but it's on my to-do list!
That giant cement floor of yours will make a wonderful heat sink that will hold it's temperature for a long time.

I will ask the plumber tomorrow, but I am having problems with plumbing contractors here - I am on my third one - they all think everyone is a rich Albertan from the oil patch, which there are many here.
I'm not a plumber, but the last thing I would want up here is trapped water in pipes on your roof in the winter. I would think something could go wrong so fast that it could ruin your nice shop?
