Do you know off hand what length u-bolts you used?

not off hand, they were some generic standard u-bolts from the local trailer place. they were, however, about 3/4" longer than the original rusty, military u-bolts...if that helps. the extra length worked out perfectly (highly unusual for me) as I added that extra plate for the shock mounting.

I can get a measurement tomorrow if you need it.

That would be awesome. My M101CDN is in Ontario now in storage and I am in Labrador. I am trying to source all my SOA and hub conversion parts, before I pick up my trailer in March. The tube dia. Is 2.375" too correct? Thank you very much for the help.

Thanks for posting this Skillet. I've been considering an SOA on my trailer. After having it sitting around for nearly 2 years, it's time to get it together. I sourced a nice tongue box and new tires, now it's time to replace the axle with a straight tube. Right now it has a truck axle, pumpkin and all, under it. It also needs to be about an inch or so wider.
I hit all the u bolts with some PB Blaster the other day. Hopefully, I can get them loose without cutting.
I plan on doing a few things this weekend, then updating my old thread.

Found this thread searching for something else and figured I'd post up a short-shock solution for others. The Monroe 555002 fit perfectly for an SOA. As Skillet posted, there really isn't that much articulation on a two-wheel trailer anyway.

If there is interest, I'll be happy to post up pics of the install.
