I do have a couple tools

rear seat mostly complete

well, maybe I should put padding in place, and perhaps seat belts .... OTH, "no whining" could be interesting.

I get it, don't want passengers to damage the inside of your 40. That's why I have straps for the top of my cage. Better view up there anyway.

this is why the interior has no carpet..... that said, the seat fabric is painter tarp and the under foam will be that bedding material and failed yoga mats.

in other news, the FiTech on my Corvette (sorry to bore you folks) but it is having trouble with injectors too. It's out of warranty. FiTech is still standing behind their product and fixing it for free. With that said, I'd still warn people against it being their first fuel system - it's not a beginner system, it does have amazing customer support, but there's a lot that you kind of have to know more than a little bit about engine building and tuning to dial it in. Add to it the 'installation' manual doesn't even have a fault code list - and you start to see the issue. The simple test.... can you read a spark plug? if you can, it shouldn't be a problem for you... the system comes out of the box with a 14.5 air/fuel - for the 800 hp system (happy is 13ish at steady state and 11-12 at WOT). On the '40, it's more than a full point leaner.

our main dog has been sick.... actually, she ran into a tree and got something in her eye... thus work has slowed... but progress has been made
first, we need to see what this girl weighs

svelte - though it looks like I need to twist the adjuster on the left front shock a little (for those who don't know, balance is important in a car - it's what gives you the stable feeling driving down the road)

that is without the new, rear seat so it will gain a good 100#
preparing for a lock

time to knock it apart, finish plugging ends and paint it

tomorrow, welding....

start fitting the fabric (problem is I don't have all the foam I need)

and yes, I know that's foam but it's not the highest density - if I don't use basically yoga mat material, it will not be comfortable at all

I did make a decision later to move the seat back back... means making a different hi lift mount... no problem there

It has been a while since I took a look at this thread. That seat is great! Always been impressed with the speed/quality of your fabrication work.

thanks!

planning/measuring for spare carrier
the long is I'll add another hinge at the top, carry the tire from this side and eliminate the other 1/2

like this
shBBR1Kh.jpg

it will also be lower
biQIimHh.jpg

in other news, I'll make the tailgate swing to the passenger side and latch rather then use a bolt

the deciding factors for the redesign:
1) the folding tailgate is too far off the ground to be useful and it's usually in the way
2) the spare was too high and made controlling the weight a big problem
3) folding the spare to the ground has advantages but ultimately, I don't want to be climbing over a dirty tire - the one thing, though, is the carrier will lock open or closed.

time for the spare.... in some of the things I do, we're required to haul a full sized spare.... I don't agree but I like doing that - so time to make one that doesn't rattle

These are cool, but I don't think I'll use them... or maybe...

finally something the warn winch can lift

the only issue is my tow points are higher than the spare... I could use the hitch, but that isn't there for recovery.

it's really not as low as it seems from the back.... still, If I carry a spare, it will be smaller. I have patch kits, tube, welding wire and dowels to fix a flattened tire - if I need to use a spare, I can put it on the front and unlock the hub (or pull a shaft on the rear)

I really like the rear seat and storage idea. I will have to do something similar for mine when I get that far.
