This past weekend in Newport Beach I came across this beautiful example in an area where we like to walk our dogs. Looks to be in good shape.

@osamenor ?

Great pics. I had a 65 years ago......interesting note is that there is NO vents on the passenger side for the heater blower. Mine was the same way. The PO had installed the rear heater in the firewall where the original heater would have been. Interesting that it has the cowl vent. Good example of what actually came as "options" on the vehicles.

Oooooh. Caught me.
The funny thing is, I don’t think I’ve ever seen your truck Matt. It was just a lucky guess, based on remembering you have the early heater and fuel tank, and that you live by the coast in the OC.

Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket? 🤔

My guess is it's a 1965 production date. Non heater model with no vent in windshield frame. Footman loops on the back corners, pads and windshield hold hooks on the hood was it originally a FST model? Or right around the start of universal hard top and soft soft being able to switch between models? Thread holes for the safety strap eyebolts would tell which model it is. Small details I would switch, the tail lights to smaller used on this model and clear lenses on the bib lights. Passenger side mirror was added. That's a safety feature which most would want.

good catch on the tail light size and missing windshield vent. Still a vey nice ride.

It's a 65.

@65swb45 I brought it up to your shop many years ago now, and you did an inspection and gave me the notes and got me started on a long and fulfilling path of working on it. To answer your more important question, yes, you should buy a lotto ticket.
