When does registration open for this ride?

 Looks like they may call my bluff. I may need to go apply for a loan soon.
Does the club have any funds to cover my down payment?

Not sure Nick. I'm sure it's a while yet. We'll just have to get on CLC's forum and watch. I'm sure if I see it I'll post up the linkback in here.

Well guys I started the "ball rolling" today with the owner of the trailer. By no means is this me saying it's a done deal, but I would like to know who's actually serious about wanting to do it to know if I shouldn't bother.

I know Nick will if the "other three" don't all want in, but just gimme some feedback on where everyone is at with their possibilities.

Good point Sid, thanks. Didn't really think about that when I was posting.

sorry bubba-- Currently sitting in Tampa having attended my nieces wedding rehearsal party earlier tonight, can't tell you how much I'm having...it's dry!

wedding tomorrow -- (open bar is the only saving grace) and a frigging brunch on Sunday--God, please kill me now.

Steve--Ill get with you early net week!!!

Heard through the grapevine that there's enough interest for me to pursue the trailer idea. So this week I'm going to try to get the tow rig in the shop and tuned up. If it works out that the rig appears healthy enough to pull the loaded flatbed, I'll go ahead with trying to get the trailer. My hope is that within two weeks I'll know for sure if this whole deal is going to work out. At that time, we'll compile what three trucks are gonna ride and how I'm going to pick them up.

For now: Anyone who's interested please post up or PM or email me their truck's basic dimensions. IE- wheelbase, max length front to back, vehicle weight. I need to start calculating how I'm going to tetris the four trucks.

Where is everyone staying while at Superlift? Camping? Cabin? Hotel??

Good call bringing that up Nick.

I've assumed I'd stay in the truck, but with the weather that time of year, I'm cool with camping too. If everyone decides to do a cabin, I may be game to join. Typically I prefer not to stay outside the park though since the party usually goes on late and, you know me, I like night wheelin.

Also, as another option: Where I think I'll be parking the semi there is likely plenty of room for a line of tents. It's a grassy area just inside the gate to the right; I think it's actually considered overflow tent camping. We could make it the Ga Cruisers camp. Downside to that is it's a bit of a walk to the bath house. Although at least you CAN actually walk there whereas from the normal tent spots you have to drive unless you're ok walking across a stream.

Did you snag the trailer SteveO

Not yet, but it looks good. Really its just a matter of how much its gonna cost at this point - it isn't going anywhere. But I gotta put the truck in the shop ASAP to see how much its gonna cost to get her back up to par to be able to pull the +/- 30,000# first. I hope to know for sure by the end of next week.

So I guess its a little uglier than I remembered. It's solid though - other than a good portion of the wood. If I brought it into town one weekend, anyone think we'd be able to clean it up in a day and a half?

This is a "file" pic - I haven't gotten it quite yet. Price is set and purchase is dependant on my truck's condition and pending trailer's exact measurements (and loan approval of course)

That's a big honking trailer. What are the approx measurements?
All I know is it's 53' total and the dovetail is the final 5' of that. Width is probly around 96". I'm waiting for a call back to know how big the upper deck is to see what's gonna fit up there; another reason I need to know people's wheelbases and overall lengths.

That thing is giant! This could be a new business venture for you Steve. Charge a small fee to haul everyone's junk to the events. $$$

That's sorta the idea. Not so much trying to make money on the cruiser crowd, but more so take on the occasional vehicle or equipment transport in the southeast. I've wanted to get this trailer for quite some time now; getting the Ga crowd out to SCC is just the "straw that broke the camel's back" per se. ;)

(There's also been talk for almost a year now about me and Roger of SLTCA toting 8 trucks out west next year)
