my tbi 350 will not start on its own ,as soon as i spray starting fluid it starts right up and idles fine. when i go to drive it it runns like s*** from a dead stop i give it alittle gas and it pops and back fires out of the throttle body but when i going faster it seems to run more normal iv checked the signal wires

any suggestions

and you are surprised! the Toyota is pissed at you for dropping a piece of crap in it! :flipoff2:
Toy4XFun, thanks for posting my exact thoughts!

It sounds like a fuel delivery issue to me. I'm placing my money on your using either the sock fuel pump, or a cheapie one off the shelf.
Grab one that has the apropriate PSI for the task, and for goodness sake, post up some decent info!
What year truck?
What engine, displacement and such?
What went into the install process?
Was the stock harness hacked to do this, or does the engine have its own?
What ECU are us using?
Is the PROM modified to any new or odd dispacement?

yea chuck, i was feeling a a little wild that night, but IMHO a sbc has way to much power for a little Toyota truck, and really if Toyota thought they were any good they would have put their own version in there!

and this is just MHO!

it is a 1994 toyota pick up solid axle .the engine as far as i know it is a chevy 350 throttle body injected, the truck was built by somone else then i crashed it and did a frame up resto on her... it seemed to run fine before i crashed it thats why i didnt think of the fuel pump but it is aftermarket it reads 10 to 14 pounds when running, when doing the resto i bought a painless harness i thought that might be the problem but it isnt throwing any codes i tryed setting the engine base timing with the computer but it didnt seem to do any thing

10-14 PSI is really low. For TBI, it's around 20 PSI at start-up, and then 15 PSI running, up to 18 accelerating. Also check to see if your return line is setup correctly, one issue from my Chevota days was the buildup of fuel without a return out of the TBI unit - instant flooding.
