I'm interested in the run on the 16th

Its been a while but I've done it coming out near Tom's farms and also near Foothill in Corona

slight chance ill be out of town but if not I'm in.

Haven't received soccer schedule for my BU19 kid so not sure but if its open I'd like to tag along. I don't think I've met any of you guys yet. Of course this assumes I take care of my lame overheating issue I'm currently saddled with.

Little bit of a drive for you to get down here behind the Orange Curtain. You sure you want to be seen down here?

I've been following your saga in the 80's section. Damn bad luck my friend. I hope you get it solved with all the work you've put into trouble shooting!

Technically no. I don't have my papers in order to cross the 5/405 split :flipoff2:

If you need papers, then this TX boy is really gonna have trouble getting in.

I'm going to try to make this. Hopefully I'll have tires by then. I need to practice using the ATRAC as well as it seems there is a learning curve. Are there any ruts or hills or anything or all just fire road?

I have a few more parts left over from my 80 that I can bring if anyone is interested in them. They are all brand new in sealed packages and I am asking what I paid for them, minus tax/shipping.

Fusible link 90982-08264 $10

Parts to change in tank fuel filter (sock) $18
77169-60010
23217-16490
23219-03010

Parts are for the tank sock, right and will work on a '94? I'll take them if so.

Yes, the sock filter that goes inside the tank. Based on a quick search, it looks like this will work on 93-97 FZJ80.

I'll take the fusible link. Always good to have a spare.

Sounds good - I'll double check to be sure, but I'll take them. This is on my to do list, especially after seeing someone on TLCA Facebook post a pic of his sock (old and new)on a '94 with 230K on the clock. Wow!

ATRAC is pretty much a no brainer. Just stay on the gas and it does it's thing. I'd still rather have a locker but it does well enough.

On the gas and off the brake. And keep the RPMs under ~2200. To be honest I have never seen my ATRAC engage. I was messing around on some dirt roads by my house and was having a hard time getting up a mild rutted section. Something my 80 wouldn't even blink at. I am attributing that to street tires and not knowing how to use the ATRAC. A rear locker is in my future however.

Ok fellas. So we have a date down. What's the plan? Again I don't know the trail. Who's gonna head this? Are we starting out in the OC? Up to Sati Peak and back down Ortega? I would like to know an estimate as far as time to get up to the peak. Are we gonna chill there for a bit? Lunch? How much time to get down? I need to know so that I may plan the day as far as going solo or with la familia.

Well...it's been a Veerrrrryyyy Looooooooong time since I ran this. Jonathan???

Druck led it and we entered what was then a developement in Corona under construction and we weren't sure we would get past the guard to the construction area, much less the gate to the road. Not sure where that was, but it was years ago, so only question would be the gate to the trail itself.

Looking at maps, perhaps Skyline Drive up through Tin Mine Canyon to Forest Road 3S04, better known as Main Divide Truck Trail. That'll take us to Santiago Peak and depending on a relaxing start time, lunch at the peak amongst the humming of all the microwave towers, etc. then on south to Ortega Hwy and home sometime in the afternoon? There's absolultely nothing difficult about this dirt road at all from what I recall.

Thoughts, other entrances over on the Corona side??? I know you can also access Main Divide from Black Star and Silverado Canyon off Santiago Canyon Road, but that's a much shorter time on dirt to the peak and on south.

its been a while for me too but I remember there were some little side loops and hill climbs that are pretty challenging to test out articulation and Atrac
