I don't have a problem with the vacuum operation. The problem that I have is that the diaphragm disc that sits on the side of the transfer case is too wide to fit in the 40 series chassis. I don't really want to cut the chassis.

Could ya move the diaphragm?

Update -
Started to pull down the 12ht. Going to replace the water pump, injectors, thermostat, rebuild turbo or replace, big end and main bearings, front seal and crankshaft seal, new belts and a general tidy up and adjustments.

I dropped the sump off and had a look at the big ends and main bearings and they don't look that bad. Also sump was pretty clean, no sludge or foreign material.

Can anyone tell me if the if the bearing marks are STD or oversize ?

One of the main bearings :censor: Looks like a defective bearing?

Pulled the injectors out and they are pretty carbon'd up. Pretty sure they where dribbling and not spraying which would explain the unburnt diesel smell and smoke.

Can't help, but with a 3" straight through that thing is gonna pull like a Kenny - and sound like one ;)

I hope so!! Love how they sound with straight through 3 inch. That's the plan and having it poke out the side just before the rear wheel!
My man ;)

Update-

Some bad news I pulled the transfer case and gearbox apart to see if I could use the FJ45 transfer case housing to convert manual shift apposed to the vacuum on the HJ61.

Once I pulled the transfer off I saw the output shaft and its too far gone and fourth gear will need to be replaced and a few syncros so I'm going to have to get another box and rebuild or bite the bullet and buy a full recon box.

So after the gearbox news I needed some retail therapy so I order all the parts I needed to finish the 12ht.

So while I'm waiting for parts to arrive I've been tidying a few things up.

Yeah, are you on the Facebook pages? They always come up for under a grand.

A split case with factory parking brake is a very rare part in the US. Nice.
