The hole size isn’t proprietary information. If you don’t know the answer, don’t waste our time. If you know the answer just please say so.

When I saw your question, I thought to myself hmm haven’t seen that guy around here in a while. You just reminded me why that’s a good thing 🤣 Take the attitude elsewhere - Kurt is one of the most helpful guys in the Cruiser world.

LOL, I didn't say the hole size was proprietary. I said if you're going to order it from us, we would be happy to send you a full PDF of the instructions so you can read about all the tools necessary for the installation.

Who is the "our" in your reply? You and Amazon? :D

He and Jeff Bezos are irritated at you and your excellent customer service! Offering to send someone a PDF with all the information they need?.. Is that how you run a business?? If you're not going to be helpful and cut the hole for him then just don't say anything at all! Bahaha.
I, on the other hand, really appreciate good service so I'll be giving you a call when I get ready to order a snorkel.

@Markuson that is precisely why I bought mine. It's a $250-500 (depending on the manufacturer you choose) insurance policy and a  job to install. I don't intend to go hood deep for the same reasons as you, but if I take a crossing that is deeper than I expected or I get to the end of a long (or one-way) trail and find there's a deeper water crossing than I'd anticipated, it gives me more options and less risk.

Exactly!
Just like critter strikes can strand you, though not terribly common...so can drowning your motor. Neither are super likely (I’ve whacked the deer at highway speeds already and Cole drown on the ONLY trail day we didn’t do together at CM... at ,

So for me...checking off protection against two potential trip-ending factors are a worthy cause/cost to me.

Here’s my install of the 5.7 specific one.
It is ARMax version from Safarithough...which sticks out a bit more than non ARMax, width-wise. Very happy with it. Installed myself last month, which is hard when you can’t see well. :)

Being someone that hasn’t researched these too much.. what’s the difference in the ARMax versions other than width? More flow?

Physically larger, yes...but as far as I know, we will NOT see a performance benefit.

In Australia, though, Safari is producing “ARMax ECU” tunes with additional tech establishing different engine tunes that optimize the diesel...but I haven’t seen anything for petrol. We don’t have diesels so oh well... Others herd surely know more. Kurt??

When I ordered my snorkel, I didn’t realize it was ARMax.

I actually like the looks of the ARMax...but I am going to scrape it eventually because it is quite fat off the fender...

Ah. Here:

If they can do on a 5.7 what they did with this guy’s diesel...that would be interesting:

Just watched this 30 minute video on snorkel install, and have decided I will probably do this job myself.

The guy’s head is sometimes in the way...but it shows pretty much everything you do. Have a look:

Thank you Markuson for posting this. However after seeing this I almost passed out thinking about me cutting into my HE, thankfully I had a friend named Don Julio help calm my nerves.
Gary at Mudrak Custom Cruisers is doing my install tomorrow. Great guy and shop as well.

I'm picking up my Cruiser from Gary tomorrow! Maybe run into you. Had the BP-51 install, and some fog lights...snorkel on the future list.
