Can I use chassis saver with naval jelly, which do I use first? I have areas that I believe need some help.

Ya got a little issue there. Do you have additional areas with rust through & holes?
Areas where the rust is bubbly, do they feel week enough that you could push a screw driver through?

Naval jelly is just thickened phosphoric acid. It will remove rust. Don't use that yet

Yes there are a numer of areas where I could push a screw driver through. I am in the process of wire cleaning the whole tub.

What do u suggest, please keep in mind funds are limited.

I don't have the financial ability to do a media blast. The tub is still on the truck and top on. Could I media blast this way and how much? What if I just wire wheel everything?

You have a compressor and a place that you could sand blast the tub yourself?

Harbor freight sand blasters are not too pricey..

I'd be careful blasting that tub. If you have areas already rusted through you could do some damage blasting.

Note to anyone using Chassis Saver or similar products: Media blasting does not profile metal for CS to adhere well. Sharp angular abrasive is needed or you then have to rough up the metal.

You have to make sure before you go through lots of work here that there are no areas that need reinforcing because they are almost rusted through. Have you gone around the whole tub and inspected very well?

What repairs do you plan to do on any holes now?

I have not finished wire wheeling the whole tub so no I haven't gone through and figured out how many patches I need to make. My plan is to patch what I can with 18g steel. I would say 10% of the tub needs some work. My plan is to finish tomorrow and post pics for advice. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. When u say reinforce are you saying steel on top of steel or patching?

Steel patches for sure in critical areas. You could get away with fiberglass cloth and Chassis Saver in out of the way spots.
