I recently purchased a 2000 Land Cruiser with a known brake buzzer noise. I replaced the hydro booster today and was hopeful that would solve my problems but after replacement the truck is still emitting a high pitch beep inside the cab.

Brakes function great and the new booster kicks on as needed. Brake and traction lights are all on. I tried resetting the computer by disconnecting the battery but nothing changed.

Any advice? I have a 40 that’s simple as dirt so I’m at a disadvantage stepping into the 100 series electronics.

Another piece of information. I removed the left center ABS relay labeled ABS Motor and the beep went away. I removed all of the abs relays one at a time to check and that was the only one that did anything.

At the moment I have removed all the abs relays on the left side of this picture. So I can drive it and yes I realize my traction control and abs are off now.

Could this be related to a wheel speed sensor?

Can't help until you get a Techstream. You got one? You should get one.

Well I removed and reinstalled the abs relays and the pump is working and the beep went away but I still have the lights.

I’m fairly certain the pump won’t kick on when the relays are pulled...made for a short drive down the road when the pedal went all the way to the floor.

Techstream will give you the errors associated with the lights and buzz. Pedal going all the way to the floor probably means bad master cylinder but there is a rebuild kit for it for $50.

Copy that. I’ll check on the rebuild kit. Luckily I think the pedal to the floor was related to the abs relays being pulled.

Have a look at this TSB:
(and I think there was a thread on this issue in here somewhere, maany moons ago. Couldn't find it easily tho')

Think I found the issue. I drove around the neighborhood again and the beep came back. When I replace the pump I only disconnected one side of the wiring since the master cylinder was still in the truck. Well I should have removed both sides because I would have seen this...

Guess I get to take it all out again!

Having trouble getting techstream to connect the VIM.

Also, the new accumulator has power going to it and cycles off and on way too much. I can sit in the truck without touching the pedal and it will cycle about every 30 seconds.

Good luck. The trick is to remove screws without damaging leads or housing.

I've been seeing this and is now a new inspection I'm doing. The question here is why are some of these rusting. I've found on clean rust free rigs. I'm suspecting it's a leak of brake fluid from ABS.
