Great looking rig. I like the pic of the stock rear bumper crushed in. Mine looked exactly the same after CM07. But about the time we hit AZ and the temps came up, it popped back out on its own:D

Keep up the great work and pics:cheers:

Mine stayed crushed in. Even when I took it off and beat the hell out of it, mine would not go back.

The 4x4 Labs is sweet. On Kane's Creek, I went into the "Big Ditch" and hit my spare and my hilift as I was coming out. It's pretty steep in there. I accomplished pushing the ladder swingout up and over the stop bracket on the bumper. Took two people lifting up and me pulling back to get it right again. No harm, no foul, and it has not happened again. That's what happens when you leverage the weight of a truck on the hilift , then to the arm.

WOW! Amazing rig and wonderful pics!

Nice rig and write up.

As always thanks for contributing.

Excellent writeup and pictures! I love seeing the transition from the stock rig to what you've made it into. It's also very cool to see that you're getting the whole family involved. Some great wheeling photos too!

Thanks for the kind words, fellas.

Nice truck! What shocks are you running with Js and Heavies?

great write up, great truck too. i like seeing it all in one piece. you do the type of wheeling i want to do. the kind that keeps your body panels straight for the most part.

Great write up and pics trout!

I just bought the west coast twin, 97 lx450, same colors, 129k and bone stock with all 3 lockers.

It will get many of the same parts you have, I have the same taste in bumpers and lifts as you.

Great to see what mine WILL look like in the next few months.:D

Nice build-up.
I love seeing those big hills out west.

Is that a roof top tent I see in some of your pictures?

Yes it is, I'm borrowing it to get a feel for how they work for me and if I like them.

So far, very comfortable to sleep in by myself. Haven't tried it with the whole klan as I believe this one is only good for 2 adults. For just me it fit perfect. I took this RTT to Salida last week and it held up to some pretty rough rain. The door got wet and made the outside of my sleeping bag at the feet wet but it never soaked through. Dried out really fast.

My beliefs about RTT's:

1. Awesome if you are travelling to different sites day to day for setup and take down, as well as comfort. Verdict still out for a family of 4 versus 2 people or just one. May be beneficial for quick trips as well since the setup is not involved and takedown just as easy versus putting up a tent.

2. I still think that if you are staying in one place (base camp), but using the truck daily to get around, then a large family tent is best and you can make up for the comfort with an air mattress. I have the REI BaseCAmp 4 and it is great for all types of horrible weather and very roomy on the inside.

I'll go set up the RTT and take some pics to show the difference between this one and some of the heavier duty ones.

I'm still running the regular OME shocks (NOT the long's). Probably not maximizing my droop but for the expense to benefit ratio I don't see the need at this time.

I like the adjustibility of the Bilstein 7100's but also know that when getting heavier the spring may be the limiting factor.

Who took the photos?

TJK

They were taken by a myriad of people. Sometimes me, my wife, brother in law, and sometimes a buddy.

The really nice ones in ABQ are from a guy I work with, who has all kinds of great photo stuff and shoots hundreds of pictures when he goes out. I saw what he had and asked for them on a disk so I could use them for ROTW.

If I keep hanging out with Beno I may get into more trouble. I already told myself that if I lose a flare, they all go and the durabak comes out.

Good luck and take your time to do it right the first time. Some say go straight for the Slee 4" but I think people need to feel out there needs first with a version of the OME.

Here's some pics of the RTT. It says it is Car-Top-Tent brand.

As you can see it does not have good fly coverage on the side and the front door, allowing for some wetness to occur in the severe weather I put it in last week.

It also comes with a ladder extension, and cover. I have kept the cover off because it was falling apart already and would only get beat more (flapping) if i left it on.
