Yeah, thats totoally sick, great work!!

Wow. Thanks to all for the kudos. Most appreciated.

Another mod, that I left out, which lends to the stance of the vehicle is a 1.5" set of these from TG:

I am sure I will think of others I forgot. :D

yeah man, that's the setup.

can you say tank envy?
bumper envy?

so that tent will work with an inti rack? hmmm.....

Yes. The side bars on the rear of the rack actually come off and the tent fits nicely...here is a pic of another chap who did it.

Hope he does not mind me using his pic. ;)

Awesome rig! I have a few questions. Where did you purchase that sweet master battery switch? and How are those horns? They look big, hows the sound?

Thanks.

I ordered the switch from some marine supply place with an equally generic name like, marine supply dot com, or something. I will try to dig up the receipt. It is a pretty common switch, this is the one... http://www.northeastmarineelectronics.com/browseproducts/BLUE-SEA-9001E-BATT-SWITCH-4-WAY.HTML, but off the shelf at the local West Marine, it was litterally 2x the price as I got it online. I also ordered a bunch of lugs, and marine grade cable for wiring the whole system, much cheaper that way. Just search the net for the best price and look for free shipping.

My horns are obnoxious but they get the point accross.
I picked them up at Harbor Freight for about $20.
The stock horn was kind of whimpy in my opionion. The main reason I got those horns was to wire them into my alarm for my trip through Mexico. They get your attention from quite a distance.
Good, smooth, european airhorn sound.

Very nice rig, I am glad I had ROTW before you, yours would be a really hard act to follow. It also gives me many ideas for the future of mine.

Thanks, but its funny, I was thinking the same thing about yours. You have a great truck and I was scribbling down a few ideas from yours as well.
Love the stance on that thing, black fenders and the mag light mount is awfully cool, amongst other things.
Good stuff.

I love the white, and most of your mods. I like the bold colors. Most 80's are plain blue, grey or green. Mine ended up bright John Deere Green. Really shows up in a parking lot, but tends to hide in the forest. My color is unique, but I am a bit green myself when I see white or maroon. I like my unique color, but now and again wonder if I should have done a bit more work when I was holding the paint gun......

How did you rig the Yakima bars to secure the shovel? Quickfist clamps? Thanks.
The white color with the mods really screams expedition. :D

Nice rig.

Well set-up and thought out.

Great write up.

As always thanks for contributing.:D

Those U-shaped Yakima deals with the strap through them.
They are called 'Multi Mounts'. Part # Y014034

The shovel rattled around a bit so I cut some heater hose pieces about 2" long and split them, put them on the handle of the shovel where the I strap it down and it sits in there nice and tight.

As you can see, they work great for paddles, tent poles, etc.

I have two sets on there as I got them on sale...:)
