love it! Bet the cruiser loves africa, gets to see afew more of its kind over there?

Lot's of 'Cruisers, mostly late model '70 series but there are 105's and 200 diesels and ex-US 80 series. Very few '60 series but I get lots of looks and comments though!

Missionaries. You can check it out at our website Home | Wirrell Family

The next big trip will be 2013 when I plan to drive from Sierra Leone to Germany for our 6 month leave.

We've been wondering what has kept you off-line so much. But I see from Petra's update on your web site that internet is almost non-existent and very slow when you get it. Sounds like you are going to have quite the trip to Germany. I hear that Germany has a lot of used Land Cruiser and Patrol parts at good prices. I bet you will be stocking up. Maybe you might even find some 3B oil pans. I have heard of a few more of them rusting out with guys looking for replacements.

We're looking at all sorts of options to get internet out here. One needs to remember that we are the only house with 24hr. power and running water in the area so for most folks here internet isn't too high on their priority list.

Another picture of the 'Cruiser in Africa. Here we are at a weekly local market.

If only 'Cruisers could talk...

What would they say getting dolled up for weddings in Sierra Leone, West Africa?

Having one of the few reliable vehicles means you get called upon for all sorts of things, even weddings! I know the groom and we were already invited otherwise we would have declined. I wonder what the bride thought climbing into a lifted 4x4 on 34" Swampers! It couldn't have been easy.

I think that rig was parked in my yard at one time! Wow, you sure are putting on the miles! Stay safe my friend!

Austria has some looooooong tunnels. I lost count how many we went through but we went through one that was nearly 8km (about 5 miles) long and a couple that were in excess of 2 miles.
Even with those tunnels the tolls in Austria (8.50 Euro for the weeks pass and a 10 Euro toll for the two long tunnels) were much more reasonable than France or Spain were. In Spain and France there were several tolls in excess of 20 Euro.
