Looks like that drop in the last picture has also gotten worse as of last Sunday...doesn't look too bad in the pic!

nice 55... glad it was up for longer than expected :D

nice ride, I really would love an fj55

If I remember correctly, when Patrick Wilson (of 4x4 Customs here in GA) built that snorkel on FJBen's truck we used PVC for the pass through. We simply put PVC elbows with a smaller diameter straight piece through the vent plate DS fender. The hose is from an Astrovan. The outer is all Astrovan and PVC with a ghetto dryer vent top (which works great!)

Gotta love hardware store snorkels. Worked really well for me the entire time I owned the beast.

Looks like it is holding up well for FJBen as well. The dryer vent approach works because it can basically be replaced at any hardware store, anywhere! The way it is screwed in allowed for the same condensation runs for rain, etc that the safaris allow in their models.

Dan is the man!!!

yeah it has been sturdy...wacked a couple of times any no problems...bushes you name it...doesn't care...I replaced the dryer vent was it and it was looking a little worse for wear.

Yooper, if you need up close pics of any/all parts, let me know, I'll post em in the Pig section...

btw: it survived this section with a little rubbin...

Please do. I'm interested in how to go through the fender - is there just a big round hole in the vent plate or what? Is the PVC tube attached there, or just resting on the hole? Also interested in how it's attached to the A-pillar, and how the draining that Dan mentioned works with the dryer vent.

thanks!
