I started trying to remove the disk brake set up from my Donor axle today. Got the locker off and removed the c clip but can't seem to get the hub off. Book says to remove cone washers by tapping the out but they won't budge!! What am I missing ? How do I get the rest of this off?

I think it's generally advised to use a brass drift to transfer a hammer blow to the end of the stud and loosen the cone washers. A couple good whacks and they should be loose enough to fish out.

Another question, haven't pull the axle that it's going into apart yet but it is a drum brake set up, can I use the the drum brake axles with the disk brake hubs ?

use the disc brake axles inner and outers, disc brake knuckles, spindles and hubs, and of course, disc brake stuff. IOW just stuff everything from the disc axle housing onto the drum axle housing less the third, but you may need to change the pinion flange- maybe.

You do not need to change the pinion flange.

I guess I mentioned that in the event that you had a very early pig with the smaller pinion flange bolt pattern.......

You'll know if you can't bolt up your front driveshaft after any kind of axle swap. They are simple to change if you do. Call me, I've done it too many times.

I have got everything off the donor disk brake axle and am getting ready to degrease the knuckles , spindles ect. Can I mix up the knuckles and other parts and then assemble them as I install or should I keep the right and left side parts separate. Does it matter?

Important! If you haven't mixed up all the shims from the upper and lower knuckle caps/ steering arms, keep track of them in terms of the ones that came off the upper/lower, left/right.
These shims center the knuckle housing so your inner axle seals won't fail prematurely!
Also, get the double seals from Marlin before reassembly.
