We have a tracking number on Fridge 3. I give this one a 50-50 chance of making it to me.

Edgestar has been great about replacing the broken one and lost one, fully endorse them from a customer service view.

Fingers crossed that the third time is a charm! Guessing Monday eh?

Comparison and install of new beefy handles. Always tricky perfectly lining up holes, but it worked out.:)

Nice work on the handles. I thought they were kind of pricey at first, but I can't even find anything like them on the internet. Plus it looks like they will be quiet if you tie down your cooler with another method.

It's too bad the OEM handles are so cheesy and edgestar doesn't sell upgraded handles (they sell upgraded hinges though). I was careful picking mine up empty, definitely would hurt your foot if the handle broke and you had to drop it.

Yup, these are sprung very well and hold tight to the wall. Seems they would work just fine as a tie down too.

My 43qt EdgeStar stopped cooling after two years of constant use. I'm debating on what to replace it with. Keep a lookout on the classifieds for a great deal on a non working fridge with transit bag and beefy handles!

SDCruiser, I like your drawer/slide setup, do you have a build thread? How far are you able to open the fridge door with that setup?

I'm supposed to get a new 63 quart today, I setup my slide so the door will just barely clear the back of the truck. Hopefully it's setup that way, I didn't fit the last fridge I had with the slide actually bolted down. I don't think I could open the door if I raised the fridge any higher, maybe moving the hinges to the short side is an option (like engel and arb). I'm thinking about a drawer setup, I saw someone on the 100s section that had a modular system where you could use a low fridge slide or a drawer on one side, that might work for me.

Update: Fridge arrived. A brand new 63 quart for $290, not bad. Packaging was good and unit arrived undamaged and it appears to be working on AC. And a Marinco Sealink 12v, plug just showed up, it has an internal 10A fuse and an indicator light. The 12v plug the unit came with might be upgraded or different than the last one I had. Still waiting on Marinco receptacle.

Were you able to get one? The site declined both my cards but put pending charges. Trying to get one for my mom.

I did get one last time they became available. It might be easier if you call them, they have really good customer service (at least in my experience). They sell out really fast perhaps there was only one. Good luck

Yeah they are supposed to call me back about the charges and no order number received. I'll just call them next time. The fella on the phone said he couldn't find it was available on their site when i was looking at it. I didn't have any issue ordering one online last month.

Same happened to me and Phil got mine. When I called they said since my bill to and ship to were different it was delayed for fraud check.

Probably something like that. Hopefully they get the charges off my cards in a reasonable manner. If I just bought LCPhil two fridges, I'm not going to be happy.

Wife used the 63 quart today for our bi-weekly grocery trip and it's working out great. I don't have full time 12v hookup finished yet but it's running fine off the OEM 12v with a pair of frozen gallons, in my 100. I'm just going to have to remember to unplug it when not using it since I have a single battery setup.

When it happened to me I told CS that I wanted the fridge and would wait until they found one, a week later and wala they called me back and said it was coming. I can't wait to scratch together some money and buy one of the renogy panels and a deep cell to power this when camping. Hopefully this weekend I can pull it down on AC and see how long it takes to kill a group 31 interstate blem, if its a couple of days I'll put off the panel.

I read somewhere a battery will last 2-5 days depending on fridge setting, ambient temperature, and size/type of battery. If you have extra fridge space you can pack some frozen water jugs and that should buy some extra time.

Where do you get blem batteries from? Interstate is prevalent around here, but I have not been able to easily find a refurb or blemish unit.

Forget the dealers, find the local warehouse or distributor, walk in and ask if they have any blems in the size you're wanting, if they don't ask what they have in stock for blems.

So far between myself and my buddies we've bought about a half dozen for different projects. Here in MD the 31's go for $35 with exchange, I got one for $25 I think it was a 27 for my dual setup.
If you don't have a core expect about $15 extra or if you're like me and troll the yards you can often buy a dead one for $5 and save yourself $10, yes I am a cheap A$$ penny pinching Dutchman but I digress.

They carry a full 90 replacement and after that nada but they're basically blemished, either scratched, dented, maybe a lower tab broken off etc but they're new so the warranty didn't bother me.

All of the ones we've bought are still running strong, we use one for a fuel pump on a 250 gallon trailer tank and can run it full to empty and full again on a full charge. Another is used for a 2000w inverter that runs one of those portable fender amp/speaker pods and can run at full tilt for over 4 hours. They get rotated out and put on a battery tender and are usually full after a day or so.

After finding blems a couple years ago I'll never buy another battery anywhere else, money saved and the original starting battery in my truck is now coming up on 4 years, that's $25 well spent.

If you go in and they don't have what you're looking for shake some hands, get a business card and call daily.

Here the buy here pay here car lots will often clean out my local distrib on Fridays but now that I know who to talk to and the last couple times I just asked them to put it aside and ran out during lunch to pickup.

Funny last time I was there they were putting on Infinity and Toyota logos stickers on two pallets to send to a local dealer, guy told me there is only about 3 car battery manufacturers left now so most all imports have a black label interstate in them!

Cool thanks. I called a local place that sells new and reconditioned batteries. I need a Group 24 deep cell for my trailer, guy on the phone said he could get me one for about $40, with a 12 month warranty. I'll give them a try.

In my trucks I use 84 month Interstate batteries purchased over the counter from the Lexus dealer. It costs a little more, but if they fail within 2 years, they will come out and replace it for free, if I'm in town. It's worth the extra money to me, my wife drives both of our cars with our kids. Plus they batteries never last 84 months and I get some prorated value towards a new battery.

I made a tie down bracket today, copied from Expedition Portal thread. I used 12 gauge, 4"x10" pieces. My father works in the galvanizing industry, so he had one of his customers cut the pieces for me. I bent the sides at around 2.5", rounded the corners with a grinder and de-blurred everything.

One of the handle screws would spin but would not back out, the insert was loose from when it was installed. I tried yanking on it a little but it wouldn't budge. I was able to slide a hacksaw blade in there, that was the hardest part of the job.

Looks good. Still debating on the $40 handle upgrade, found some heavy duty ones on eBay but they're not spring loaded and sort of ugly but they're also $10/pr shipped.

Do you plan to use the handle as an anchor? If you are, I'd say go for the $10 handles if they are study. They won't bounce around if they are tied to and have tension on them.
