How many watts and amps is this fridge pulling with the compressor and fan running?

How many watts and amps is this fridge pulling with the compressor and fan running?

Been test the loads this morning so far running averages at 70W standby is at 4W with the fan running. The fan has not stopped running...not sure if it because its already hot by 6AM here or not. Running load is not as important as a cumulative load over time. In order for the cumulative load test to be accurate the fridge should be packed with some food and be removing beer out and replacing it with warm as you go to emulate normal use.

I have found a lot of things play into the "how much power does it use" question.
Ambient outside temp
Ambient temp inside your vehicle temp/ventilation
Temperature setting
Insulation blanky
Percentage of capacity used
What is in the fridge
How often the lid is opened
How much replacement with warm beer
Supplied voltage

I get a 5 amp load when running. My monitor only displays 2> for under 2 amps.

I get a 5 amp load when running. My battery monitor only displays 2> for loads under 2 amps so with just the fan on the current is less than 2 amps. With 90+ degree high temps and my truck parked in the sun for the last 5 days my DHP 31M is still at 12.8V with only one 20 minute drive since Sunday. My Redarc BMS1215S2 usually has the battery charged to 13.65V.

Just read all 18 pages & now I'm really wanting one! I have a 27F AGM battery w/no solar or inverter or anything else. Would I be ok using this via the cig lighter w/out killing my battery if it ran all night?

I think it would be okay overnight with an AGM. I've been able to run mine up to 36 hours with a loaded pre-cooled fridge on a wet 27 battery, not ideal though.... Pretty sure I beat up a year old interstate doing this.

If you can keep the AGM above 50% of its full charge (which is about 12v) then that should work well. 11.5v is going to be below 20% charge. Phil is the battery/solar/fridge Czar, do what he says.

Just picked up 40 bottles of water for our club meeting tonight. Good test for the 63 qt

Outside temp in the shade 107.5°
Fridge cooled empty to 36°
40 - plastic water bottles 78°
Within 15 mins Fridge temp goes to 63°
Fridge has wrap around 4 sides nothing on the top
Powered by 120V

Start time 12.:45

When you say 120V, are you saying plugged into your house outlet or in your rig thru an inverter?

An open box Engel 16qt. for $800? No thanks.

Just got done reading all 128 pages from Portal. Also read the MOD thread. Just need them to get one in-stock and Ill be ready.

Don't bother with the "email me when back in stock" it never worked for me. I just bookmarked all the pages for all three sizes both scratch and dent and open box and checked daily until one came in. Was really wanting the 43 but couldn't pass the 63 @ $277 when it was available.

I dont think my family could get away with the 43. Damn sure dont have room for an 80! We just got back from a 5 day dry trip in the Shasta Trinity forest. We ended up needing to take our 100 something quart igloo from costco. 4 people and gear shoved into the back of an 80 series would have been allot more comfortable with a fridge rather than the ice monster we took!

A 63 quart works good for 2 adults and 2 little people. Might have even more room since we always have to carry a gallon of milk for the kids.

We used to carry our 165 quart igloo on a hitch cargo carrier which worked great other than opening the tailgate and lifting the darn thing. It still goes with us on hunting trips, I can fit a large quartered animal in it and it still rides outside.

I found the two I got by watching this thread and checking the link a couple of times per day.... I almost gave up hope on the last one, but stay patient and be ready to check out immediately!

And make sure your ship to is the same as your billing on the CC otherwise it will be held for a fraud check like my first one was and won't be pulled from inventory. If you can't ship to the billing address then call it in.
