I’ve been eyeing this device and was thinking about the same location on my 2010LC.

Per Amazon site
Item Weight‎2.86 pounds
Package Dimensions‎11.06 x 5.59 x 4.8 inches
I did see that on Amazon. Those are usually the dimensions of the box, not the product itself, which is why I was hoping to get an actual screen measurement. Thanks though.

Can you store multiple phones in the Bluetooth for it to pick up whatever phone is in the car.
Per Amazon
Q: Can the device pair with and easily switch between multiple phones (obviously only one can can be connected at a time)
A: Hi, yes it's easy to pair with and switch between multiple phones.

What was your main issue?
Do you think it’s caused by the faulty unit?

I don’t know. I was able easily connect my phone to the Roadtop unit and was able to see the other BT connection (Roadtop_XXXXXX) on my phone. I was never able to connect the Roadtop to the Cruiser to play over vehicle speakers.

Usually the source device reaches out to the output device. So you should have been able to go to the bluetooth settings in the Roadtop and "find" the bluetooth connection being broadcast by the LC. You probably had to go to the LC stereo and put it in pairing mode from the bluetooth settings before attempting to "find" the connection on the Roadtop. Probably all a moot point now.

I did both with the same negative result.

Here is another interesting product
Downside is no Bluetooth connection to the car, FM only - not to mention losing OEM HomeLink

Just registered This Forum just for this Thread. I dont have a Land Cruiser a Lexus LX, but I do have a Lexus NX. Car Totally irrelevant, However, I Do have a Road Top 8.8 which I have received Yesterday and was testing out today. I apparently was messaging back and forth with a reseller, and apparently they mentioned that there is a second Generation of this product. Hard to tell from the outside and inside, but I'll take my word from it. Apparently they gave me a Second Generation Road Top which the UI has changed and the internals changed. Hooked up to my car fairly easy and no hiccups for the first hour driving with it. They told me what has changed:

Not sure If I am allowed to share this, but I was told that the Second Generation is already out and selling.
Ill provide some pictures of the second generation when I get the chance. Hope what you guys ordered on Amazon is a Second Generation. I had to message back and forth to have them confirm that they sent me a second Generation product.

So far overall, I am liking this, but because of my car interior shape, finding a suitable place to mount it is next to impossible unless I fabricate something that looks OEM-ish.

Everyone that ordered it probably has the 1st Generation Road Top 8.8. I was told that the Second Generation Road Top 8.8 Just released towards the first week of July. Apparently I may be the first in the state side to get the second Gen since I kept nagging them when they were about to release the second gen, until they had a few produced and decided to ship it to me. At first, when you look at Road Top's most recent video, I thought it was a simple firmware upgrade to achieve the UI, but was told on the comments below youtube that it second Gen product. If you have ordered from Amazon, Chances are that they are all 1st Gens as the product I have ordered Shipped all the way from China. I do not believe that they have any Second Generation in Stock in the State Side yet, though I could be wrong. Do yourself a favor and message the seller first before ordering. I apparently Like their new UI, simple yet functional.

Curious how the Day/Night mode works, does it have an ambient light sensor? Is there a toggle? Does it Dim the screen or does it change the interface to dark UI?

Based on that One hour of Use, I do not see any sensors around the Unit that senses light. I know there is a quick toggle switch. I dont know if it automatically toggles to night mode based on time (RTC); That I need more time to play with as It is not night time on my side yet, but I highly doubt there is. Quick toggle is better than none at all or buried settings. It only Dims the screen for now since I've only used it on day time.

To add it further, Here is a picture of a part of the manual that hopefully answers your Day/Night question as well as to show you how the New User Interface now looks. I was trying to embed a video in, but its 200mb +.

Mine is not going to be to Texas for at least a week, so it might be a second gen after all. I’ll exchange it if it isn’t. Thanks
