I am trying to wire some aftermarket guages to dim with the rheostat. I have tapped into the white/green wire that is used for the dimmer. Unfortunately the aftermarket guages dim opposite of the factory cluster. If the aftermarket guages are all the way dim then the cluster is all the way bright. Anyone know a solution to allow me to use the rheostat?

The rheostat varies the NEGATIVE side of the illumination circuit.
In order to work, your aftermarket gauges would need to have TWO wires each for the backlights.

Ok, where would I want these two wires to go? Lets pretend that I am a total idiot with wiring (because I am).

White/green and green to positive?

White/green and white/black to negative?

From the rheostat,
GREEN to positive
WHITE/GREEN to negative
