thanks, i'm stoked too! i have two people very interested in the axles and t-case right now. waiting for a deposit before i can call them "sold". the proceeds from the axles/t-case outta be enough to buy the new axles, t-case and adapter as well as some parts for the buggy. i have pretty much everything else to finish the cruiser so that should work out well.
i came up with a plan to finally get some work ddone on my rigs: my wife just bought her horse yesterday; the seller accepted her offer. so we made a deal that i'm going to work on my projects one night a week. first i need to build the axles and trans/t-case for "land cruiser junky" so i can deliver them to the build-up of his FJ35LV in mid july. after that, it's onto the buggie and then the cruiser. i'll have a couple of friends helping out along the way so progress should be a little more constant from now on. i'll keep my fingers crossed.....

What type of "stock" GM adapter was used to mount the Atlas? Can you elaborate as to what is needed, if anything, to bolt her up to a TH700?

you can use a th700-np208 ( tall version 0 or a th700-np241 ( short version ). i like the shorty better. you will need to move one of the 6 bolt holes about 5/16" to make all 6 of them work. also, clocking can be an issue but that can be overcome with a d300 clocking ring. they can be bought on ebay for $50.

project isabel update: i have aquired a set of fj62 axles. also been collecting parts to go thru them; knuckle kit, wheel bearing kits, axle truss from marlin, knuckle ball truss kit from marlin, thinking about going to D44 studs and cones for the high steer arms ( just machined a set of knuckles for a buddy and they're bad-ass! ), trying to decide between 456 and 488 gears, need to save up for a pair or ARBs,...........
buggy update: selling the 350TPI, rebuilt switch-pitch TH400 and stak t-case in favor of a 6.0L vortec, BUILT TH400 and atlas 4spd case. the atlas should be here early next week.
and i'm going broke fast.

yup, i already have the adapter and a 38mm split case.
i also have the fj62 axles stripped down, need to do a little more grinding to the front housing so i can do the C-n-T as well as spring over the perches. same for the rear.
this project is still somewhat on the back burner but i'm tinkering with it a little here and there........

hmmm, let's see. i got some more parts for the rig. high-steer stuff is on the way, got some gussets for the front housing, got all the soa parts for the 62 axles, new calipers ( late model IFS stuff ), knuckle kit, wheel bearing kits, HD marlin inner axle seals, some beefy u-bolts,......
i also stripped down the split case and put it thru the parts washer. need to finish bead blasting the aluminum components, get everything painted and then build the case. i have the rebuild kit here as well.
i'm still debating on which diff gears to run; 4.56s or 4.88s but i'm leaning towards the 4.88s since i'll have the th700 and 37" iroks on there.
i'm trying to be realistic about getting this rig back on the road. hoping to be able to spend a day here and there just isn't gonna work. i'm way too busy between the shop, the house, the kids, my wife and actually having time to take a breather. so i'm setting aside one night a week to tinker with the rig. this week i plan on getting the front housing cleaned up and the cut-n-turn started.
after that, i'm gonna chop the correction kit off and re-hang the front springs. speaking of front springs, i'm fairly certain i'm going to run the fj60 fronts. i like the larger bushings; the 40 series bushings just don't hold up since they're so thin. i also like the centered spring pin. with the shackle reversal and having the front hangers kicked out, i'll still be able to stretch the wheelbase some.
that's about it for now.

nobody was smart enough to buy it! 
last night we got a bunch of work done. greenfox and fc helped me with some of it. i got the donor t-case torn all the way down, put it thru the parts washer, got the aluminum parts bead-blasted and painted.
we had torn down the "new" fj62 axles a while ago. fc got busy with the plasma and cut all the unwanted mounts and brackets off, then fox got busy with the grinder. the rear housing is ready for new perches, then it'll go in the hot tank, bead blaster, some paint and then it'll get built for final install. right now it's a completely stripped bare fj62 housing. the perches ( and the rest of the work) will have to wait until i get the output chaft in the trans swapped and the t-case built. then i can install the trans and tc combo and figure out the rear pinion angle. after that, the rest of the rearend work can proceed.
i also started doing all the prep work for the front axle. we still need to clean all the unwanted bits and pieces off the bare housing, then i'll do a cut-n-turn, hot tnak, bead blast, wash, paint and build it up. i have most of the outer parts cleaned up and painted.
here's a pic of fc "fully getting it"! turns out gear oil will burn if you get it hot enough. i guess the plasma did the job!
