After "dragging" my resonator on a rock last week. I decided to saw it off.

The v8 sounds a tad louder at full throttle. And has a nice sound at idle.

I noticed getting on a highway from 40-60 it felt a little faster. But that may be just my head.

Are there any gains? Has anyone else done this and noticed a slight off the line pickup...

I highly doughbt I gained/lost anything but a little back pressure and 9 pounds.

This thing is definatley a tad quicker. I've always hear the 100 exhuast system is very restrictive. I just ran a few 0-60's and it winds up a bit quicker. I use my iPhone for 95% on my time on MUD. ill do videos this weekend

I downloaded it but it gave me really bad times. Like 9.45 1/4. Not to accurate. But it was the free one !!

I like the exrltra little "grunt". But I have leaky manifolds and a exhaust leak. So there's many sounds. I have to fix the leaks... just give me time... Lots of time

Shoot. I better stick with modding my new toy :)

I best leave the 100 to towing and mild trail runs. The thing I noticed after I removed the resonator, is at full throttle. It sounds like a wind storm coming out from under neath. Maybe thats what I'm hearing. Whatever, I won't be smacking rocks with it anymore.

Did you ever get that video? I'm about to cut mine off and am curious how it sounds.

he sold his cruiser .... but one day might be back.

I recently removed mine and you can now hear the exhaust in the drivers seat. It is not even remotely loud if you have the radio on even very low it will mask it. There is absolutely no drone inside. If there was a change in the power band it was not enough to notice.

I choped it and bought a exaust pipe from a local parts store with about an 75 deg bend in it about 12" on both sides of the bend to help shoot the fumes and heat out by the rear tire.

Very nice, thanks for the info. I just chopped mine off yesterday and am about to do the same with the exhaust. Did you weld it or use another way to attach it?

There wouldn't be any noticeable restriction reduction to produce gain from the resonator. I really didn't notice any power gain after putting the Magnaflow muffler on. From strictly a sound standpoint there was a huge difference in sound level when I had the muffler put on with and without the resonator.

Without supporting dyno numbers I would never believe the resonator to be of any significant restriction regarding power.

Sound level? Absolutely. Power? Don't think so.

The sound often gives a more powerful feeling which can really mess with your seat-dyno calibration.
