Residential outside 2 post lift?

I’m wanting to pour a concrete slab (properly rated), and put in a 2 post lift (properly installed), on my property. Due to my land and where I want it, it would not be closed in, but I plan on a 12’ open carport placed over.

Check the dimensions of the lift you want; pretty sure that most 10K lb two-post lifts will require more than 12'. I know my 10K Dannmar lift does - it fits easily in my shop with a 14' at the apex shop.

You are correct. Check the last post on page 1. I can make a 16x24 work

100 percent agree with @WarDamnEagle pour the slab as large as you intend on the building

A neighbor of mine has an outdoor lift and he and I can both tell you that these lifts don't really like to be out in the weather. It leaks constantly and unless you religiously spray them down with a fluid film type product the cables will all look like crap within a year

Now with that said I still want one outside for power washing reasons lol 😅 but it would at least have to have a roof over it from day one.

You are right. On y'all's advice I have shifted to intending on closing it in as a shop in the long run. Similar to this (biggest I can go)
