Replacment rubber for hood latches

My hooks here are aftermarket stainless ones and I'm finding that rubber (arrowed) is wearing really fast where it rubs against the hood side panels.

PS. As you can see, I glued little plastic/stainless discs to the paint on my hood side panels to stop the paint from wearing through there (and to stop the associated rust streaks that would otherwise occur).

I used some rubber clamp tips that have a threaded rod in them. They are commonly used on squeeze clamps. Got them from Grainger and they worked perfectly.
 
I just for new hooks from cruiser Dan. They are factory and have lasted 7 years so far. I know they are still available, but don't know the cost now. I paid about $80 for the pair with shipping if I recall correctly. That'd solve your issue permanently (or for at least 20 years).
