Need a decent set of extensions of different lengths, been a while since I took out a 3.0L starter.
Why are taking out the starter?
What issue are you having?
If it is clicking don't replace it with an aftermarket starter.

Usually it's just the starter contacts and these are easily replaced. Ray is correct; don't replace it with a non-Toyota starter. You can probably find the contact part numbers by searching here or go to Roger Brown's website, 4Crawler.com. He sells the contacts.
If you don't feel competent doing the contacts yourself there usually are places that will do the work. Most places operate on a fixed fee or parts plus bench fee. Look for starter alternator rebuild places. You could also ask a local truck repair place where they send them. Truck alternators and starters make car ones look cheap so they are often rebuilt.
