Careful with ToyoDIY as it doesn't have the most up-to-date (replacement) part numbers. Megazip does however.

No Toyota heads come “loaded”.

They are bare heads with only valve seats, bearing caps, pre-combustion chambers (if applicable) and valve stems already pressed in.

Everything else must be sourced and installed.

Here is a 1KZ cylinder head, for example.

Onur do you own a 1KZ? I'm looking for some help with the two different style heads Toyota made for these engines. I own a 1KZJ78 and found my head is toast so I'm grabbing a new one from AUS but there are two versions and I want to make sure I'm buying the correct one; one version is where the intake and exhaust valves sit flush with the head and the corresponding pistons have noticeable valve reliefs imprinted, the other version is where the intake and exhaust valves sit 1mm higher into the head and the corresponding pistons have no valve reliefs imprinted.
Are you knowledgeable with these motors and able to assist me in the right direction?
I would think the most obvious sign is the pistons themselves, if they're flat then I need the 1mm higher valve style head and if the pistons have valve reliefs on them then I would need the flush valve style head.

Go to Megazip, use your chassis code to find parts drawings for your vehicle. It'll show you all the part numbers compatible with your engine revision. Then you'll know which head revisions are compatible and which aren't. I'd help you, but you haven't posted the year of your cruiser or chassis code anywhere that I can see. GTSSportCoupe thank you for the response. I've found the part number off Megazip for the head but the company I'm purchasing the head from out of AUS (have supplied many IH8Mud members) with Mr Cylinder Head and they were asking me as they show 2 options for heads. Unfortunately I don't have $2500+ to purchase a factory Toyota head (plus HG, studs, and gasket kit). It's still early right now in AUS so I'm waiting on an email response.
I have a 1995 Prado with a 1KZ-TE.
