Bringing this thread back. I have a 2006 GX and my wife has a 2008 GX. I bought the Nav screen from a 2009 to see if I could just plug and play into my 2006. As the rear pics above suggest, that didn’t work. So I plugged the 2009 unit into the 2008. Plugs matched but on the 2009 screen I only got a blank white screen. I took the negative terminal off for about 5 minutes and same thing. The screen is white, but the buttons work (they make the beeps) and the touchscreen works you just can’t see anything...lol. So I am wondering if this could be due to difference in software between the two years. Even though the 2009 screen plugs into the 2008 the NAV units are different part numbers by ‘1’.

So now I am wondering if swapping the digitizer into my 2006 would increase resolution or if it would be the same. I used a Vline 2 and couldn’t deal with the terrible resolution. The screen in my wife’s 2008 looks 10x better on stock NaV, radio screen, etc.

I've taken the digitizer off my 2004 screen since it was cracked in hopes of repairing it. Sadly couldn't find a suitable replacement part so ended up just getting another complete matching nav screen unit from a junked GX... Not terribly hard to take it all apart though, so it might be worth a try. That being said I doubt just swapping the digitizer would increase the resolution as it is just that, a digitizer. Would definitely love to hear your results.

Do you think you can show us how bad the navigation looks with the grom? I’ve got an 06 that I’ve been thinking about adding the grom vline to

i successfully did the nav to non-nav conversion... i'm not that adept at wrenching and never worked on car audio before. with adonis' help and patience (as well as some others), i got through it. if you take your time, and don't rush it, i dont think it's THAT bad. i'm not saying it's easy, but if i can do it... anyone could.

for me, i went through the process over 2-3 weeks, and yes i drove my GX around with no stereo, wires hanging out everywhere, and trim pieces removed over that period of time. but in the end, totally worth i

Can you explain what you did, where you bought your parts. What all parts did you have to buy. My 05 screen does not respond to touch anymore. How much does it all cost? And have you had problems since?
