It’s funny to see that 80 owners love to remove the flares and that 200 owners can’t wait to put them on. I’m half and half - my 80 has had half of the flares ripped off while wheeling and the other side of the truck still has them on. Last year we visited Iceland and finally got to see some arctic trucks in person after drooling over them for almost twenty years.

For me during the years I first started noticing the Land Cruisers and other Toyota trucks back in 90s early 2000s , when all Land Cruisers, Sequoia, the 4 runner, all had fender flairs, to me that was just how they were suppose to look, and I liked that look of them. So when the 200 series came out with the smooth sided look and no flairs, I thought they looked like something was missing till I first saw a southwest version with the fender flairs.
I have had those southwest flairs on all 4 of the 200 Land cruisers I have owned including my current 2011 and my new 2018.
Which the 2018 was a near perfect fit with some minor tweaks needed to the lower portion of the front flairs since the front bumper was shaped just a little bit different.
