For me during the years I first started noticing the Land Cruisers and other Toyota trucks back in 90s early 2000s , when all Land Cruisers, Sequoia, the 4 runner, all had fender flairs, to me that was just how they were suppose to look, and I liked that look of them. So when the 200 series came out with the smooth sided look and no flairs, I thought they looked like something was missing till I first saw a southwest version with the fender flairs.
I have had those southwest flairs on all 4 of the 200 Land cruisers I have owned including my current 2011 and my new 2018.
Which the 2018 was a near perfect fit with some minor tweaks needed to the lower portion of the front flairs since the front bumper was shaped just a little bit different.
