They are all gone (hiding in the hills until I can sell my house):frown:

The city of Wheat Ridge filed criminal charges against me for "littering"

I do want to thank the fine crew of Rising Sun though, without them I could not have cleaned out the yard in 2 days. (I had emergency back surgery just before the code enforcement officer cited me.)

dude.......that sucks....I could have been you :D

they must have given you warnings, they dont just out of the blue drop criminal charges for having a buttload of cars in the yard. I know a guy around here, he had 200+ on his waterfront property, took the county years to get him, in the end he had to clean up the mess and pay a fine.

I got popped twice for the same thing but all my cruisers run and are licensed. So I drive the around the block and park them in different spots.

Man that sucks. Glad you got some help and get well soon.:) I have never had them all in one place. Not sure if that will ever happen. I have'em in 3 different places. They all work and have tags but don't have the room where I live. Good Luck selling you house.

"Littering"

Ya know what, get your friends together and vote the rascals out of office that allow that kind of arbitrary code-enforcement.

Tell the new mayor and city council that they represent you, and that you insist that your city's money would be better spent chasing down real criminals.

Funny how the do-gooders love to boss folks around. Reminds me of what Thomas Jefferson said when they were forming our country and everyone was wanting lots of rules to keep us in our places: He said,"The sheep are happier of themselves rather than under the care of the wolves." Sheep unite!!!

My sympathies.

I thought that kind of bogus crap only happened HERE! That's just friggin stupid. Did you ask the officers what terms are acceptable for returning them? Seems like you could just build a big garage and, as long as they're indoors, nobody could say boo.

I'm sorry I've been out of touch so long as to not know about your selling the house. I know you've mentioned it once or twice when we've talked, but I thought you were joking.:frown:What are your plans? [You can PM or call me if you'd rather not reply on the forum]

Best

I knew I may have problems with the city but I kept everything out of sight. From the street you couldn't see anything. Sure there were 15 trucks back there and a ton of parts but I kept to myself and never had a problem for 10 years. They cited me for a temporary garage and the trailer parked out front overnight......then it got worse. Only allowed 1 vehicle that is not legal, insured, etc. and all repairs must be completed in 2 hours. They cited me for the paint on my house so I had to have it under contract to paint in 3 days. I posted this in the 45 section because I am trying to help out with the 45 stuff and, in the past, I have done my best to help bring back the FJ45LV. There will be a firesale soon so stay tuned.

Mike, does this mean that you're getting out of the FJ45LV's?

Say it ain't so!!

If you do decide to sell off a bunch of stuff keep me in mind. I'm slowly collecting the missing parts but it's not easy.

More importantly, how is your back? I am fighting having back surgery myself as I am too scared to let someone cut on me so I just do nothing, which really sucks b/c I can't work on any trucks or cars.

I have had both open heart surgery AND a total hip replacement in the last year! Yes, it's been a crappy year but now it's like a new lease on life!! I can walk without pain for over 5 miles easily and I'm not even 2 months post op on the hip replacement!

Make SURE your surgeon is good, do some research yourself, and then go for it!

Mike, excuse me for being oversimplistic but can't you lick all of this by just cashing out on your in town home for a place a little further out? There's gotta be a way to make it work. A fire sale will leave you with too many regrets.:frown:

FWIW, there have been 4 or 5 guys that have called the shop since I sold you the LV that have wanted to buy it. If it would help, I could take the time to get their ph# in the future.

I am going to sell my house and move out of town. Until then I have trucks all over town and I need this to happen quickly so I don't overstay my welcome.

I found this pic from last winter amusing...

I see the fence in the background.

They looked over that to see what you have in there ?

That is just wrong in so many ways. It even looked like they were in a parking lot not like a dump.

Are you part of a homeowners association? I think its strange that after 10 years living in a place all of a sudden the code enforcement folks show up. You must have a neighbor that doesn't have anything better to do than bust your chops.
I can't stand busy bodies!

It's not the first time this has happened to 'Cruiser enthusiasts. There is a fellow I've bought parts from over the years who's had similar issues.

Does your county have code enforcement? I know our county code enforcers have written county dwellers with vehicles on their property. I would check with the county to see how they view vehicle storage.
