Looks like a saw is a great idea as that grew cut down a handful of trees. I'm pretty sure this is the same group @geo5 and I saw earlier this year up in pipestone. If it is they are all running 40s now. Either way it looks like a fun trail with an interesting ending in the mud!! cant wait
Interesting! Toyota conversion.

This looks like a super fun ride with a solid group! Got my popcorn and following along

@elkun1 I got the offroad needle and seat kit installed today. It was an easy job and the parts were under $30 (including a can of carb cleaner). The hardest part was getting the retainer clips off the accelerator pump and secondary linkages.

I did notice that both bowls were empty. I figure the fuel is evaporating while the engine is still hot. I could swap the aluminum spacer for a phenolic spacer, but I wonder if it's actually leaking? Spending the $35 for a rebuild kit probably isn't the worst idea. It's in stock at the Napa in Bozeman.

good deal, hopefully that takes care of your carb troubles. might not hurt to rebuild it, there isn't much involved with those carbs. looking forward to the run

First post updated.

@REZARF Is your 40 going to be put back together in time for this?

Just 3 weekends left to finish up those projects before the Relic Run. Should be good weather this weekend. Who's wrenching?

On my list is to crawl under the rig and tighten every bolt I can reach.

I did this just the other day and found that most of my u-bolts were loose,
Big 32mm nut on the steering box to the arm was hand tight SKETCHY.
Also the steering knuckle nuts were slightly loose.
Always nut and bolt check at least once a year.

gave the old girl fresh fluids and oil, even checked the driveshaft bolts and u joints. all good. is it a drive shaft or drive line, i'm always confused on terminology. the thing that spins . on a side note i believe today is the final day for the guys on the unreal adventure trip, formerly known as the ultimate adventure on the discovery channel. i think Trask and Tim will be heading home from Montrose today or tomorrow. from the few pictures i've seen it was quite the adventure. Trask is riding with me and i believe Tim is riding with Sam on the relic run, be prepared for some dandy stories and maybe some advice when one of us becomes an anchor on the approach to the bridge. i will have a bag full of recovery gear in the 40 so if you don't have a winch or accessories don't let that stop you from coming, we'll get you out. with this dry weather there might not even be any mud to worry about. this is going to be a blast, really a fun trail and shouldn't be any damage unless you happen to have one of those moments. make sure you have solid place to hook a rope to just in case. that means front and rear. as i think i've mentioned, i pull my camp trailer to the lake but won't be on this trip.

1 week to go guys, sounds like a little rain or snow on thursday which will keep the dust down then cool and sunny fri and sat. might need the long johns for those with flo thru ac. not sure if sam is gonna make it with his pig.

I hope Sam can make it.

Bursted an upper rad hose last week. No brake lights this week. Fresh oil and filter sitting here on the bench ready to go. The 40 always needs love.

I'm hoping to fix up my running lights today.

Got a tune up, tire rotation, straightening out vacuum hose problems, and rewired/cleaned up some bad electrical.

Something came up and I wont be able to make this trail run.
Enjoy the trail and get super muddy!
Can't wait for pics of the messy Yotas.

Ah, bummer. Well at least you got out with @ttFJC a few weeks ago. Great pics BTW.
