I just imported a truck and had paid the Trump taxes, then the SCOUS shut them down as illegal like a week later. (He was really saving the economy by taxing me on a truck that was never sold in America). If you have done the same recently, let me know what you find out about getting it refunded. I will try to do the same here. What a pain...

How much did you pay? There has been a 25% tax on imported trucks for decades which has nothing to do with the latest round of duties.

I have spent tens of thousand on the tariffs.

Nobody is getting anything back. To think so seems very delusional to me.

Cheers

USA Imports 80% of our aluminum. The amount we recycle is predominantly for beverage cans. The tiny little nothing amount of bauxite we mine here amounts to virtually zero.

I estimate I've absorbed an additional $65k of raw aluminum cost in the past year. Prices are 180% of what they were in 2024.

I spoke with my import broker. From the sounds of it they are setting up an automatic refund process through the ACE Portal within CBP. I have everything set up for that but not holding my breath. Additionally while the IEEPA tariffs were struck down they are still in effect until July. Between the struggling economy and tariffs against vehicles & parts it is hardly worth it anymore.
