Right. It works well in many situations. Traffic or having horrendous drivers around you (Utah), it can be finicky and not as intuitive as other manufacturer's radar system.
Agreed

It works well with Asian drivers around here

After living in Asia for six years, I wish there were more Asian drivers around me here in Utah. Plus, more kimchi.
I still live in SE Asia part time of the year. The drivers in Los Angeles and Asia, are equal and the same essentially

My experience of Utah was interesting last few years. Loose women, and nice Caucasian drivers; I must have missed the Asians in Utah in your neighborhood ;)

I miss dried Bombay duck

IF the 300 series is a complete redesign and they go higher end beyond just the tid bits of new lane monitoring, etc the cost will likely jump at least $5-7K and the LX570 will go up accordingly as well. Toyota doesn't sell a million of these a year so they have to recoup their R&D money. I was shocked when the 2018 price actually went down from 2017 model year.

Because they made the video system optional.

Lucky you

Unfortunately I do not like it there anymore, only things I care are family there and of course the FOOD!!! LOL :)

Loose women in Utah?

Aren’t you married?

The thing is, there won't be much R&D money spent on things like radar cruise control and lane-keeping assist. Those technologies have already been developed, and Toyota just buys them from suppliers like Bosch.

Fascinating. Just goes to show the wide range of preferences people have for how they want their LCs outfitted. If only Toyota would give us OPTIONS!

(By the way, thank you for your service, my uncle was USMC from 67-69. His son, my cousin, also a Marine. Happy 4th of July!)

They do. In parts of the world, where the size of the market demands it :)
I know, I know, I get it. But it seems like many of the things that we want could be port-installed, or not installed. All the LCs destined for the US could leave the factory one way, then, as the market dictates, they could be fitted at the port of entry in the way they they are most in demand.

I agree with you 100%. It just won't happen here. The market is different, regardless of what the 1% Ih8Mud members clamor for :)

 Will watch this thread with interest. Just decided to plow more money into my current vehicle to drive through end of warranty (01/2020), so I'm going to be in the market late 2019/early 2020. Will be interested to see if a new LC comes out late next year. Would love for it to be less bloated, more boxy, as some suggested earlier in this thread.
