Red Line D6 ATF

I figured this stuff must be good for the 80 series. It meets the new Dexron VI spec and it's synthetic. The 80 calls for a Dexron III. Dex VI supercedes the old Dex III and is supposed to be "tougher" .

I'm sure a local race shop could set you up too. I got my Redline products from a race shop in Denver per Romer's recommendation.

Still waiting on the RedLine D6 ATF.

In the meantime, I picked up 8 qts of Carquest fully synthetic Dexron VI for $4.75 a qt. today. Looks like not much else is out there that is fully synthetic Dexron Vi.

Mobil 1 has their own synthetic Dexron VI out now. The new Dexron VI spec fluid is supposed to last much longer than what it replaces.

August 5, I drained my ATF, not a flush but drained. Valvoline makes two different grades of Full synthetic ATF. Both have Dexcron VI/ Merc LV. One is the Extended Protection and is their premium version in a gray colored gallon. The other is MAX-LIFE in a red colored gallon.
Both have great reviews, it seems the Aussies love it, and all is good at this point.
However if MOBIL 1 full synthetic would have been available I would have chose it as I really like all of thier Petroleum products.

I did a full flush with Red Line D6 back in 2015. It worked well but fast forward to now when I replaced the trans filter and solenoids, nobody stocked D6 anymore around me. The options now for fully synthetic are plentiful, unlike in 2015. I went with Valvoline Max Life and it works great. Saved me some money as well (D6 is bloody expensive).
