I know, we definitely need some or ONE Cruiser specialist in Long Island, NY/Western/Central CT. Plus, someone that will do bodywork with attention to detail would be amazing!
I myself will work on any local Cruiserhead truck, though I do not do the work as a profession on a daily basis. Up until 12 years ago, I was a Lexus tech. I have experience with Lexus, Toyota, and Mercedes vehicles, as well as general repair knowledge of all vehicle makes and models. If I were to work on your vehicle, I would only take on a job that I can turn around to you in a reasonable time at a reasonable price. I also would treat any vehicle like my own. I'm located in Farmingville, Long Island. I don't have a shop atmosphere or lifts, but all the tools to do everything except welding.

Old school, knowledgeable and honest.
Not the cheapest, but not unreasonable, either.

Sounds good...do they do auto body too, or strictly auto repair?

Just repair - they refer out to a place called park west autobody in park slope. No experience with them though..

Any good recommendations in the Birmingham, AL area? General maintenance - will need some header/exhaust work as well.

Saw someone post the same question in 2006, without answer...any recos on a good LC mechanic in SE Wisconsin or closest good LC mechanic to this area? Looking for carb-work to be done...might need to drive to Fort Worth and visit Mike Dajda given my parents live in Dallas...haha

Lots of travelling cruiserheads and many new owners would like to locate a reliable mechanic in their area, or know who to go to if they have a problem on the road.

It has been suggested that we try to establish a sticky thread for people to make personal recommendations for a mechanic they know well and with whom have done business.

Please provide:

City (or County) & STATE
Name of Mechanic
Phone number
E-mail

Let's try to get some solid recommendations for our brother (and sister) Cruiserheads.

Posting this again but any one have any mechanic recommendation in Las Vegas NV??

Anyone know anything about Harris quan auto in Memphis I've heard good things and that he is an old school Toyota guy but I've been screwed over by to many mechanics in the past to trust them off of one recommendation
Did you ever find a Memphis guy? I got a recommendation from another 60/62 owner for a shop out in East Memphis but I'm getting a bit frustrated with them. I too have been screwed over by way too many mechanics to feel comfy without getting a strong recommendation. And there are enough of them here in Memphis for there to be a shop that specializes in them surely!! And yes Nolan I know you have a great shop down in Richland - and if I can get her running cool enough long enough - then maybe I'll bring her down there for the next time, but she's my daily driver so that makes it a bit tough!!

Evansville, IN

I'm not a professional but, I'm mechanically inclined. I've done all the work on my current 60 series myself including: brakes, knuckles, wheel bearings, lifts, head gasket, desmog, carb work, fuel delivery, fuel tank, electrical, etc. I daily drive my 60 so, I can't afford to have it down. I am willing to help with or perform similar repairs in the local area.

anyone in ny, long island??

I have a couple of options here on Long Island. They are mobile mechanics, they come to your house and work on it there. May be an option for you, depending on what part of the island. Send me a PM and some info, and I will see if they are interested, or give you their contact info. I live in Freeport, if you are close to that area.

Anyone know a good Cruiser mechanic around New York City or Long Island?

Replied to someone earlier, I have a couple options on Long Island. Mobile mechanics, send me a PM, and I can give you their info. They both do good work, and are fair with price. Availability may be difficult? They have plenty work, but can usually fit you in at some point.
