I recently replaced my rear rotors and pads and just noticed today a hole in the side of the rotor where previously there was what could best be described as a black plastic screw or plug. Does anyone know what this piece is called, and what purpose it serves, and what bad things will come, if any, if I don't replace it?

Hhhhhhhmmmmm??????

:) If I'm Not Mistaken...it's A Plug Or Cap To Cover The E-brake's Adjustment Screw! You Know The Thing That Looks Like A Gear That You Adjust With A Screwdriver.........something Like That!:)

Correct...it is to allow you to get at the star wheel on the e-brake adjuster.

Thanks for your help - I will speak to my mechanic about this on Monday.
