Rear heater - delete or keep?

In general, I always err on the side of caution, but I'd get 12 feet.
 
Depends on the corrosion.

If you’re not carrying kids in the 2nd row & it came from the rustbelt/you don’t want to swap the hardlines - then skip it & do the firewall re-route delete.

If this is your ‘kiddy hauler’ & it’s a priority, then yeah - do the hardlines as well as the rubber shorties & have peace of mind.

FWIW, I leave mine running the heater & use the rear blower to help defrost on hard & cold freezes where it’s sub-freeze for 3+days.

But mine is a corrosion free 80 that I really should do the rubber lines on semi-soon.
 
Instead of replacing hard lines with new hard lines which is a pain use a good quality 1/2" hose like gates green stripe to replace all the hard lines and old rubber lines with single hose for each side so you won't have all the clamps and possible failure points as with the old factory set up.
I like this idea. Has anyone cut the hardline and flared it and used AN fittings and hose to do a repair. I’m planning to attempt to do this sort of repair.

Did it this way on my other rig using Gates green stripe 1/2 hose and constant torque clamps. Covered the hoses with heat jackets individually, heat shield mats to cover and lined the upper cat shield with another heat shield.
