rear hatch latch piece--still available?

I have searched and have not found any. I found some threads about them, but not where to buy one. All of my spare sides are all for Amby doors.. I am looking for part #27.

I think you could make that out of aluminum bar stock with a hack saw, file and drill. Same part both sides.

Anyone have any good pics of what it looks like? I need to drill the top sides and insert rivnuts so the spacing does not matter.

Wouldn't use aluminium, too soft. The lock assy is the designed wear part. Still probably stronger than aluminium.

These not have fixed nuts. Has a floating plate with two threaded holes for adjusting.

The ones on my 76 top are pot metal. One was wore out so I inletted a new stainless steel surface.

Definitely steel but could be easily cut from solid stock.

Drill and tap two holes into the working face. Flat file it about 1/8" deep. Cut a piece of steel 1/8" thick to fit and drill the holes. Install with like JB weld to fill any gaps. Make sure the new working face is close to 90*. Dress smooth with a Dremel.
