how 'bout YOU measure, fabricate, and SELL me a crossmember? :)

(I am serious....PM me. if you are going to ship me steel, i'd rather pay for you to construct it).

-------

i can do that.
just mock it up like the stock x-member,plate it at the frame.

let me see what i can do next week.

awesome!

let me know asap - i'm missing out on an excursion this weekend because i couldn't get it done myself.

thanks again

WOW I thought my frame was bad. Are you sure the rest of it is sound?

i can try to make it bolt on. you may have issues cleaning it up to weld.

how does that work?
I guess drill through the frame and run bolts? whatever works. i didn't think about the task of cleaning the weld spots enough for it to work well. I figured i'd beat/chisel/grind it to cleaniness and then weld it in.

let me know if you think that'd be a problem!

Wow! with all that oil under there I am surprised it rusted at all. Be sure to get a tetnus shot before going to work on it.

i don't worry about dilirium-instilling sickness, as i am already over half gone.

cut me some slack; i know it's a beater and it's my first cruiser. i have a feeling i will learn ALOT from this oily underside.

2BADFJ's -- i like the bolt on idea.

Yeah, let me go get a better picture.

Is this what you wanted?
cruiz.webp
cruz1.webp
cruz2.webp

exactly - thanks!

I think I see a hole for a bolt in the dead center of the beam we are discussing.
is that the only place that it binds to the body/floor/bed (whatever you want to call it)?

BTW, that is a kick-azz looking frame.

Yeah there is a hole, I dont know what it is for.

Thanks, it took a lot of extra time and money but I think it was really worth it.

anyone else with the cancer need a bolt-on x-member?

looks like i'll be making a couple right now.

let me know :D

I would un-bolt your rear shocks til you get this done. If I doubt it will but if, the other side goes it will take out your gas and brake lines. I know friends that this happened too.
