Would like to know as well. Just got my dome ordered and bulbs from superbrightleds.com

Install went very well and only took a couple of hours this afternoon. Thanks for all of the good info. Went ahead and stuck LED's in all three domes. Map light on order.

Did you have any trouble? Was the description helpful? I tried to remember all of the details, How bout some pics....

Zero issues. I would have been stumped about it not working in the ON position had I not read your post. I also installed an LED puck light on the hatch grab handle that swivels and rotates. I never use that handle so it seemed like the perfect place. A few bad pics below...

That's my neighbor's Land Rover in the third photo. I have nothing against LR's personally but he's had a lot of issues with it. There is currently a 3-foot diameter puddle of fluid under it and it hasn't moved for a while. :meh:

I finally got around to doing this mod. I picked up a used light from the classifieds and wired it up yesterday. I really didn't want to mess with dropping the headliner so I thought I would try fishing a wire with the headliner in place.

Here is what I did:
  1. Made a template for the opening
  2. Marked and cut the headliner. I used a new razor blade for a good cut.
  3. Got a screwdriver under the headliner and popped the little support plug out.
  4. Used a piece of stiff wire and fished it through.
  5. Since I didn't have any slack in the stock wire, I decided to solder wires onto the tabs on the light. This proved to be a problem. I must have used too much heat and damaged the switch mechanism so the light no longer works on 'door' mode.
  6. Then I pulled the wire though, cut to length, added terminals, drilled holes and put it all back together.

I'll probably have to source another dome light because it doesn't look like I can take it apart easily to fix it. If it wasn't for this one small problem, this would probably have been a hour job.

I'm going to order lights today and install next weekend.

I added a light to the rear cargo area as shown here. It helps but if I were going to do it again I would add one to the liftgate first so I would have some light shinning down on the open tailgate.

I've been looking for a better thread that shows the liftgate.
