Rear AC cap question

Next step was to see if it would hold vacuum for an hour. It held vacuum perfectly. I then pulled vacuum for about 45 minutes to clean the moisture out of the system. I ended up not having an adapter for my self sealing refrigerant cans so I had to wait until the next day to recharge. It held vacuum perfectly for 24 hours.

Yesterday I picked up the adapter I needed and charged the system. Front and rear a/c is now blowing ice cold.

I'm definitely not against capping the lines the the rear but I do suggest you try splicing the line first. It was not hard.

For those of you that have already capped...

You might be able to remove the caps and install the pictured line splices relatively easily.

Then use one or both of these for the corroded lines:

Again, I ended up only needing the smaller 5/16 line splice kit. Hope this helps others.

For the hose style line splice kits you will also need an ear clamp pliers. Something like this but doesn't need to be this one:

Can anyone provide any input on how much refrigerant needs to be put into the system to refill it after doing this mod?

Thinking about doing this... also have family occasionally ride in the back so I’m wondering if I cap the rear lines, will the rear fan still come on? Room temp and/or warm air still come out? Also capping both Low and High lines totally necessary? Thanks in advance
