Put the Wranglers on the rear for better grip and took the rig out ice fishing. 16" of solid hard ice underneath. Caught a dozen or so fish.

I’m loving my FZJ75! I do admit to having a bit of a LandCruiser addiction (also have a 40,60 & 100 each with some mild mods). Many conversations start with how are you going to build this? Gonna get rid of that 29-leaf rear spring pack?!? 😆. Stuff like that. Truth is, I love it as my pickup truck doing pickup truckie things. Just going to make it mechanically sound and fix the stuff that doesn’t work.

Pictures doing pickup truckie things…it’s very cool to know you can easily put 1100lbs in it

and barely sags…and finally rides nicely! 😂

A couple days ago, I saw @DrRock post his sweet FZJ75 in the SAS thread, so I've spent some time today dreaming of my own 75 and looking through all the 70 series info and came across this thread. It reminded me of a nice 70 I saw in Iceland last year, so I thought I'd contribute.

Yes that is my plan. The 15B-FT has been running great in the 70. Looking forward to seeing you and your lovely bride there.
I'll be there in the Troopy. See you guys in March.

This^^ These trucks just drive so nicely. I've put in some effort in the suspension department on both my 60 and 75 and with good tuning, they drive like a dream, for an off-road vehicle. That said, I like my trucks to drive, like, well, a truck. Don't need to turn it into a waterbed on wheels like so many of the newer current offerings from the automotive manufacturers.

Im continuing with the winter theme and sharing here. Seems to be a few enthusiasts here so I hope its appriciated.

Right now we have had a month with quite stable temperatures down to -30c.
The cruiser is a good winter car. Its not a lot of air to warm up and the air con delivers good warmth. However the engine is big so it takes a long time to get up to temperature and I find that the cabin leaks in a lot of cold air.

This was taken at beginning of june and end of winter season

This photo shows me that Toyota does know how to make a tailgate. One that holds up to normal truck stuff. I wish I could say the same for the Tundra. They must have forgotten when they built the American trucks. Anyone that ones a Tundra and a snow machine, atv, or golf cart, "had a bad experience".

not me, ive owned two tundras from brand new, do construction, haul lumber, plywood, drywall, own a quad etc.. tailgates are tough, new ones even better...
why you cry?

Crying is a result of the high cost of tailgate replacement. I am on tailgate number two. First one was bent while loading a golf cart with ramps. I now remove the tailgate whenever I haul the cart.

Look around when you're in traffic. Many tailgates are bent at the edges where there is a simple rolled sheet metal joint with no structural connection between the top of the tailgate and the sides where the cables attach. In an effort to be light weight, they are weak where it counts.

I call bullchit
some people wreck everything🤣
sounds like you were driving to fast over road bumps with too much load on the gate...
