Radiator shroud differences 16711-17010 vs 16711-17011 ?

Usually, this indicates an updated design with backward compatibility? OGbeno might be able to offer an opinion about that.

Anyway I have a Chinese copy fan shroud at present and if I'm going to order some parts from Japan I might try to get a genuine one if there's any reason to go with genuine vs aftermarket, and I'm curious what the design change/update between -17010 and 17011 is.

I just bought one for my 1996 1fz-fe from Toyota. 16711-66030. Yes there are design changes from the original shrouds for great fan clearance at the lower area.

That lower-clearance detail is the key reason I’d lean OEM for a 1FZ. I’d verify the catalog number against the VIN before ordering—the 17010/17011 suffixes may reflect an application or revision change, so don’t assume they interchange. Compare the lower skirt, mounting holes, and fan opening to the radiator, then check fan centering and blade-to-shroud clearance with the engine settled. 16711-17011 fan shroud for 1HZ, 1HDT, 1HDFT 1990-1996.
However the 16711-17010 still shows available for the same series.
Personally, I would opt for the later version and I would NOT play games with aftermarket parts.

16711-66030 was superseded to 16711-66031 for the 1FZ-FE.
