I'm about at 15k on my koyo replacement and going strong so far.

Another data point on my Koyo. I am fairly sure the initial issue happened when I was on a 2 hour trip in -10F air temp conditions. I remember this trip because coolant temps stayed at 189 but my transmission temps were in the 160s-180s whereas they usually run in the 130s-140s during that trip.

So when it warmed up outside the radiator mostly sealed itself up and I saw near no sign of a leak all summer / fall. But when we had another negative temp snap it was dripping into the skid plate as well as leaking onto the fan and flinging coolant in the engine bay. Then it warmed up again and mostly self-healed.

If you dont see extreme temp swings your Koyo may be fine. I regret the purchase as I had to do the job twice. Now I hope Im set for another 15 years.

Love Mishimoto myself. Have one in my 1989 FJ62 and 1998 100 Series.
