Does your truck even move out of the driveway yet? :hillbilly:

The :princess: will kill me, but I'm in.

A couple of hosers from NM will be dropping by to help me get it resurrected in a couple of weeks!

Hey, btw, I needed to get back to you with something, didn't I???

Could you PM me with the dates? :frown: (I'll try looking for them, too.)

SORRY!!!

Hijack off!!

The shortest Ultimate Bracket for OME 1" lift will be 1/2" and the bolts will be mounted thru it.
For a 2.5" it can the same as the OME 1" for maximum travel, or it can be 1" or 2" to prevent big tires from rubbing.
For the 4" lift it drops 2"
For a 6" lift it drops 4"

All of the above are plus the bump stops. The DS is approximately 3" and the PS is about 2".

So anyone that has already placed their name down, please go back and edit in your lift. For the initial 10 I will discuss in private with each one the specific drops they want.

is the sleeve just on the inside of the oem U mount? or does it go through it? anyone have the diameter of the sleeve?

The sleeve sits inside the bracket. It is very thin and the M10 bolt go thru it. It is made so that when you tighten the bolt, it is been held securely by the U bracket.

List of interested in the first come first serve order.

Please note, I doubt it will be $100 for the set. :-(
It may take 4 weeks to get the bump stops, there are only two in the country now. If more then 10 interested I need to know before ordering the bump stops!!

First batch will be made to order, so people, I need to know your lifts and tire sizes. I am not going to rely on signatures to figure it out. When ordering a bracket consider your goals: protecting the shocks, not rubbing, maximum travel. PM me with a phone number so we can discuss your goals. Also, a shim between the bump stop and the Ultimate bracket can be installed to fine tune the drop.

Calculation example: OME L shock can only travel down 7". Meaning it bottoms out at 7". We never want to be at 7".
Let's say we want to play it dangoursly so we will plan 6" down travel. That is the most you ever want to get.
To safely protect the L shock from bottoming out we to plan for 5". This means 4" gap from rubber to axle plus bump stop compression 1". This gives us 5" travel.
Calculation for my truck sitting on 4" Slee lift:
(9" DS frame to Axel) - (Ultimate bracket 2" + 3" bump stop) = 4" gap between axle to bump stop.

Please note that a 2.5" will not bottom out but the bump stops can be designed to eliminate rub, as previously stated.
So a 2.5" that does not want to limit travel will get the OEM hight bracket.

This list will get updated as I get PMs or updates to this thread.

I'm in, put me down for one.

I'm down. Nice work. 6" lift, 35's. I really like the ability to bolt on a factory bump stop which I added already.

Rami,

I'm going to have to bow out because although I have a 2" lift that is only a temporary solution which will change soon (But I haven't decided how much lift I'm going to get just yet!

So, you can go ahead and give my spot away to someone!

SORRY, good luck, and keep up the great work!

total lift is about 5"

Ultimate Bracket Shims

It occurs to me that in order to tune a 2.5" lift with 315 tires, the Ultimate bracket will have to be tuned specifically to the specific truck.

We will accomplish that with a 2" x 6" x 3/8" shims between Ultimate Bracket and the bump stop. This will give us maximum travel, with minimum rub doing it the OEM Toyota way.

My soon to be lift is the Frankie's 3" lift.

I would like a set, Frankies 3" lift with 35" BFG M/T.

Status: I am waiting on a quote for making 10 sets

I really hope the price is reasonable.
At this point I think this is the only sticky point. I really like the bracket. It is just matter if it can be produced at a price point that make sense.

I went a head and ordered ten flange bolts M10 1.25 pitch 50mm.
I just think if I can modify the bolt to be good for both the daily function with the nut, and for trail pin it just plain cool.

The bolt is the correct one for the truck. The M10 standard pitch is 1.50. But the Landcruiser/LX450 uses M10 with 1.25 pitch. In addition the bold and the nut are flange type so it has nice contact with the U on the axle.
I don't know bout you guys, but this kind of stuff keeps me awake at night.

The trick will be how to store the safety pin. I would like to be able to position the nut either before the pin, or after. So once you down there hitching and unhitching, you don't take parts with you into the cabin. It may be trivial but I think it is the best way not to lose small parts. You are right there and everything has it place.

The other think is that I could not find M10 pin. And I would like to have M10 because this is the correct size. Alas, the bolt and most pins are not tapered enough to make it easy to plug the pin. You need to fish around the get all the holes lined up with in the connected mode. And I want that to be easy.

So that means tapering the pin, drilling the holes and using a die to clean up the treads.

I am trying to get a price on tapering 100 bolts and drilling 100 holes. Even if someone does not buy the bracket, it is still nice to have those damn pins made right.

Keep the faith...
