Question for those running hollow x-bars on their roof racks.....

I'm currently planning out my new roof rack build and I'm curious if any of you guys running hollow x-bars have any wind or whistling noise issues when running with uncapped ends

I'll be running 1x4 x 1/8" wall aluminum tubing and I'm debating whether or not I should cap the ends with a piece of angle

If it is anything like carrying a ladder on you roof it will be howling like an organ.

I carry a 28 footer on my work truck and to silence the howling I squirt some spray foam into the rungs. It wouldn't have to be visible, just blocking the passage.

I wasn't able to get the correct size for the 1x4 boxed X-bars I'm using, but the same company that makes the ones pictures above sent me a ton of free samples to play around with

Gunna cut the 2x4 caps they sent me in half and just fit them in place
