Jeff, one thing that will need to be done that will interfere with a full-on pit crew swap out is the pressure plate needing to be turned. (Like brake rotors)
May consider taking it all down on a Friday and lining up someone that will schedule you to turn it on a Saturday morning or friday pm.
It is a heavy bitch, I have always taken them to truck places to have it done versus a car place.
Thought about that. Anybody got any recomendations on where to have it resurfaced?
Don't know what a pressure plate looks like, but if the '78 parts truck has one, I'll trade it for yours so you can get it done beforehand. Send me a pic and I'll go find it.
It is the 5 million pound thing on the back of the 2F that looks like a huge brake rotor.
Is that the one with the teeth on the edge that the starter turns?
I think I have 2 of them...

...By persuasive, I mean they use a lot of obscene language in order for me to learn and do it.
I know what's under there! Already pulled the tranny/t-fer one time. Don't be mad because I don't have to spend much money on it. The chickens are coming home to roost here in a few weeks in the form of a big $bill$. Hope it will be "right" so I don't have to touch it for another 10 years!

Amen brother. Amen.
I could literally retire on the money I spent on this BS over the last 15 years.
